We Benin citizens condemn Franco-Nigerian intervention in our country and demand the immediate departure of the foreign forces of aggression,” the Party declared.

The Communist Party of Benin (PCB) has vehemently condemned what it described as a “foreign military intervention” in the country, following the reported aborted military coup d’état on Sunday, December 7, 2025

In a statement issued on Monday, the party insisted that the deployment of foreign troops – reportedly from France and Nigeria – severely compromised Benin’s sovereignty and was an “insult and humiliation” to the nation’s political and military institutions.

Citing verified information, the PCB slammed Tinubu for doing the bidding of French President Emmanuel Macron who had requested Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, to intervene.

The party further alleged that additional Nigerian ground forces entered Benin through the Sèmè border to reinforce the operation

The PCB argued that the reported foreign military action was tantamount to a total loss of national control.
This event is extremely serious… It represents the placement of our country under supervision; a pure and simple transformation of Benin into a French colony,” the party declared.

Perhaps they are also tired of the French grip hold on the sovereignty of their nation too. This is the problem of colonial master puppets in Africa. They prefer to league with the oppressors of their own people. France is feeding fat and exploiting their economic development.

In Awolowo's voice. When the time comes, everybody will fight for themselves. Money from africa was used to develop france and the UK. Is benin a sovereign country? Opposition should shut up. When we closed the boarders how many times did their president come to Nigeria to beg? 40% of their economy is dependent on France and another 40% dependent on Nigeria. Why were they in a hurry to change a president that his regime will end in mid 2026?

The master politician keeps exposing us with this new founded relationship with France when we are surrounded by our French speaking neighbours. Nigeria is now being hated more because we are seen as siding with the oppressor. To hide his fears, he doesn't mind to move with whoever accepts him. That acceptance is a sign of credibility. Edit: before you attack me, I don't care who's there. Just do the damn job you were elected to do. I criticised PDP too but if these APC supporters who were so quick to act like democratic saints pretend that everyone is against them now, shame on them.
