Following received information from well meaning members of the public, troops of Forward Operation Base, Ningi of 33 Artillery Brigade conducted a fighting patrol at Dutsen Dumburum, Ningi Local Government Area, Bauchi State on Saturday.
Earlier intelligence reports confirmed the presence of kidnappers and cattle rustlers in the locality, which made the troops to swing into action by organizing a fighting patrol to the area.

During the patrol, the team encountered the armed bandits and after fierce exchange of gun fire, they were overpowered.
The troops killed three of the armed bandits and rescued three kidnapped females held hostages by the bandits pending payment of ransom.

The patrol team also recovered many items, including arms and ammunitions before destroying the camp.

The recovered items included two AK-47 rifles, two locally made Small Machine Guns, one Double-barrelled Dane Gun, 68 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunitions and four AK-47 rifle Magazines.

Others included two Boxer Motorcycles and two mobile telephone handsets.

I tell you. Too much proliferation of arms and I wonder. What has the security agencies been doing all the while? For the past years? Have they been sleeping? The arms that the militant in the Niger Delta possesses is even surprise and I wonder if they where using the amnesty program to acquire more arms

How come no single Herdsman has been killed or arrested by the Nigerian army or police despite the numerous herdsmen killing of farmers in various villages cross the country?

the security agencies that suppose to be chasing and check mating arm movement within our border control, especially the customs officers instead of them to do there jobs, they choose to chase contraband goods rice, frozen food, tomatoes and so on, while arm bandit are busy having a field day smuggling all sort of ammunition into Nigeria at the expense of custom recklessness

As for smuggling people across Nigeria's border, heck the border is so long and in many cases unmanned - people just walk across. It's not like there is a wall saying FRN - Keep out.
