There are about 6 to 7 midfielders but na Muhammad Usman that wouldn't make us win .
There are about 6 attackers but na fago wouldn't make us score..
Hmmm
I am surprised ooo, Normally the list is supposed to even be 23. But na the 5 extra wey CAF give us de cause wahala. If Osihmen, Akor, Lookman, Chuwkwueze and co cannot score then we are not ready

The list has 28 names, but because there is a Fago and an Usman on it, some people have already condemned it.

This thread never disappoints. They always wail whenever a list is released.

Where are the so-called “best players,” and where are they plying their trade? Which country and which club?

The reaction is not surprising; it’s exactly what I have come to expect.

Your so-called best players couldn’t make it to the World Cup and only managed to qualify for AFCON by luck.

I won’t be surprised if those players you’re condemning now later turn out well, and you all end up swallowing your words.

If the issue is federal character, we have Zaidu Sanusi. We have Sani Suleiman. We have Alhassan Yusuf. Hell, we even have that pacy U20 winger Tahir Maigana. If you don't have anyone else to call again, we still have Ahmed Musa. At least he's not yet announced his retirement, and compared to Usman he has played more recent games for the NT.

Because of one useless dribble he made back in 2017, they want to call Usman back in big 2025. If we are calling players by achieved decades ago, why can't we bring back Okocha from retirement? In fact, call back Sunday Oliseh, since we all want to be silly.

Finished country.

While we can agree that previous complete squads were unable to perform, nobody should please justify why fago, usman muhammed are good fits for the afcon squad. We will accept them like that but make una no whine us on something wey we sabi. If you look accross the 56 man preliminary team you will surely be able to pick better replacements for them but it has happened and we will go with it.

Nobody is justifying their inclusion. We all know they made the list through NFF connections ,the highest bidder via agents. But claiming that failing to select players A, B, or C automatically means we will fail in the competition is misleading. The reality is that when those same players were available, they couldn’t produce exceptional results against lower-rated teams during the World Cup qualifiers. therefore no guarantee that their inclusion would suddenly translate into outstanding performances at AFCON.

You’ll expect that a world class player in his days and probably Africa’s greatest striker ever with all the exposure of living in Europe will never be this terrible in terms of administration reason I just Dey look some of our ex players with one eye with their big mouths. I bet you this is what we will get if some of them ever become FA president

They all think it's by passion for the game. Passion wey no drive them to study Administration.

passion without education will eventually look like sabotage. They ought to be a school these people are supposed to attend to get certified before they become administrators.

Maduka Okoye has been in a superlative form for his club Udinese in the Italian top flight one of Europe top league week in week out.

He has shown real commitment to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in recent game even when he knows he would not be used. Yest he has honoured every invitation just to seat on the bench.

With the AFCON just days to begin and the news of Stanley Nwabali injuries it is almost assumed that Okoye should be rewarded for his consistency to camp and more importantly his improved performance for his club.

However what Nigerians are asking is how did Maduka not make the final list even when Nwabali is injured?

How did Omas Obasoge from Tanzanian league will be preferred above maduka Okoye from Italian top flight?
How did Francis Uzoho leapfrog Maduka and made the team

NFF need to explain
.

Maduka Okoye wouldn’t try this if the Super Eagles were going to the World Cup. He knows a stunt like this could earn him being frozen out of the squad by the coach. AFCON is the only major outing on the horizon, so he gambled.

But his judgement worries me. Nwabali’s injury issue has been public for days. Everybody knows Nwabali has been racing against time to be fit. Maduka had a real shot at starting, maybe even taking the number 1 spot with solid performances.
He has thrown that chance away. And chances like that don’t always come back.

He should face his club football. He has shown he's selfish, has a weak mentality and where his priority lies. Me, I want Maduka axed from the team forever.
Well don’t rush to make conclusions from internet hearsay. I doubt if Maduka asked for a starting shirt outrightly. He may have asked for game time which is a different thing.

He reminds me of AVB at chelsea. Young coach coming with a lot of energy and hitting the ground running. But emotionally driven leading to team disconnect, disaffect and poor results eventually.
