Though Nigeria is having diplomatic talks in the background, they're forming jagaban in public.

Na Nigeria find trouble. Make Dem go apologise.

This is a sensitive issue, honestly. 🤔 Military strength aside, I think diplomacy should come first before things escalate unnecessarily. Detaining soldiers can easily spiral into a bigger crisis if not handled carefully. Do you think this will end quietly through negotiations, or are we about to see serious diplomatic tension in the region?

And you think they would sit back and watch. This isn't Israel-Gaza. You will just turn your lands into a stumping ground for Us vs Russia.

The citizens will bear the brunt of unending violence while the top officials will seek asylum in the middle east.

See another yeye analysis. It took ur country 3 yrs to subdue Biafra and it was not based on military might. Why did ur aircraft enter unauthorised zone.If it was some countries, they would have shot down the plane and nothing would have happened. Is that how other countries have been entering nigeria air space.
Why is it that it is mostly ipobss and obidientssss that are supporting Burkina Faso against our own country? Zero patriotism
Re: Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing With Fire By Detaining Nigerian Soldiers by FutureFocus:
I don’t understand, a very important aircraft that is very important in the war against terrorism somehow flew to Burkinafaso , now Traore got undue praises and attention of Nigerians on social media , and after massaging his pompous ego now willing to use that to negotiate, what majority of you don’t know is that a certain region in this country is more committed to Sahel allegiance than Nigeria Allegiance , they are usually seriously against every southern administration, ready to sabotage at all time, and will even beg Traore to seize the military plane as part of their smear campaign against the present administration

The only way is a diplomatic approach, if Burkina Faso decide to take those soldiers as prisoners, trust me your country can't do anything, unless they have a bargaining chip, just like prisoners swap.

All this online chest beating won't do jack, we all saw how your president sent troops to Benin even without the approval of NASS before it was then later approved.

If it was that possible, trust me your government would have sent in troops even without the approval of NASS.
So make una dey use logic.

This case of banditries and kidnappings cannot be solved with a military action, its not comparable to a conventional war situation.

I hope Traore gets back to his senses and free the nigerian troops.
Military action will only escalate things at this point, as there are tensions. Dialogue and understanding will be the best way moving, forward in this situation.

Forget all those rubbish data. Be realistic for once in your life. The disgraced country cannot defeat Burkina Faso who has been successful in dealing with internal insurgency in its country. Unlike Nigeria that the civilians can overrun within days if given weapons.

Why Captain Ibrahim Traoré Is Playing with Fire by Detaining Nigerian Soldiers
Many people underestimate the capabilities of the Nigerian military and what it could mean for the government of Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Don't be misled by Nigeria's ongoing internal security challenges—fighting Fulani herdsmen clashes, kidnappers, bandits, and jihadist insurgents in the North, or separatist agitation in the East involving IPOB and unknown gunmen. These are asymmetric insurgencies, complicated by local sympathies and complex socio-political dynamics that make total eradication difficult without massive collateral impact. No advanced military in the world easily wins such protracted internal wars.

In stark contrast, a direct confrontation with Burkina Faso would be conventional (symmetric) warfare. The Nigerian Armed Forces—Africa's largest by personnel, with superior airpower, logistics, and combat experience—have the overwhelming potential to overrun Burkina Faso's smaller military and, if provoked far enough, enforce regime change in Ouagadougou.

Dismiss any notion that Russia's support for Traoré would deter this. Nigeria could establish theater commands in neighboring countries like Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Benin, and Togo for a multi-front operation, leveraging regional alliances and superior resources.

This detention risks escalating a diplomatic incident into something far more dangerous. Traoré's supporters—often vocal online pan-Africanists and certain political factions—may cheer the bravado now, but they would have plenty to lament if things spiral out of control.
O God of creation why did you curse me with a country with the most unpatriotic citizens and leaders in the world. The worst enemies a country can have is from within 5th columnists who would rather support another country over their own. Out of hatred. They pray for the worst to happen to the country forgetting that they would be affected one way or the other. May their unborn Generations never see no peace. No matter the situation or outcome i would never speak ill of my country over another. We know what they want and the funnies part is that even if they get their so called country of their own , they would still run their newly formed country down.

Dey play.... Nigeria that cannot secure it's citizens from Boko Haram terrorists and Fulani militants want to attack another country miles away from it's borders. Bull sh...t.
Dem no born Nigeria well with Russia behind them. Nigeria should be the one begging for release of it's soldiers as Burkina Faso are within their rights. It's only through diplomacy that the issue can be settled.

Most Nigerians have this mentality that they can do anything they like and get away with it, most especially if they assume they got an edge over you.

They shouldn't make the mistake of using force on Burkina Faso, you can't jump fence to enter my compound and expect me not to react......I go use cutlass bût-cher you.

Rubbish write up.

Burkina Faso will comfortably defeat Nigeria military any day any time.

Am a realist, I look at things the way they are and not any rubbish data. In reality, Burkina. Congo, Mali etc. these are countries with good military track records. Not one useless disgraced country that her civilians can overrun as quickly as possible if given weapons.

The only thing Nigeria and her military are good at is corruption

Nigeria is the aggressor here.
You can't send your military to violate the airspace and land in a country you are having diplomatic issues with and then claim emergency landing.
I don't believe this emergency landing crap.
Both aircraft and personnel are definitely going to be grounded for a long time unless Nigeria plays top-notch diplomacy. Military intervention is not an option

You think Burkina will fight alone,Russia and other Anti-west countries will back them up and Nigeria will be on the loosing side because the military will be stretched thin, Nigerians know very liitle about war, moreover Nigeria is not capable of fighting wars at the moment because a lot of our corrupt politicians will see it as an avenue to get rich.
Why bring Russia into this
Nigeria and Russia are in good terms
Russia as at present is losing soldiers in Ukraine and buying soldiers from Africa and other countries
So let say war broke out between Nigeria and Bukina....Nigeria has more allies than Bukina and military rules in Bukina right now does not enjoy popular support in Africa
