Are you making excuse for a terrorist??

So even if he met with someone appointed, doesn’t that mean they know him and his whereabouts and yet nothing has been done?

Again, are you a terrorist sympathizer?
How is stating the fact equal to sympathising with terrorists?
And you're one of those protesting for the albino in Sokoto prison to be released immediately o

There is a coordinated attack on Matawalle. Why are they bringing out this now?

The fact that Matawalle even associated with the likes of Turji Bello will be good for him as defense minister.

[throwback Today [ 2013]

Former Head of State and Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major General Muhammadu Buhari has faulted the federal government’s clampdown on Boko Haram Islamic insurgents.
He accused the government of killing and destroying their houses while the Niger Delta militants were given special treatment by the government.

Buhari who first spoke in Hausa before the English version accused politicians from the Niger Delta region of starting the current in security in the country by recruiting and arming youths of the region in their desperate attempt to retain power as governors.
The former Nigerian leader said that unlike the special treatment given to the Niger Delta militants by the federal government, the Boko Haram members were being killed and their houses demolished by government.

While accusing President Jonathan of failing from the beginning to address the security situation in the country, Buhari said he has never been in support of the state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa state.

“How did Boko Haram start? We know that their leader, Mohammed Yusuf started his militant and the police couldn’t control them and the army was invited. He was arrested by soldiers and handed over to the police.

The appropriate thing to do, according to the law, was for the police to carry out investigations and charge him to court for prosecution, but they killed him, his in-law was killed, they went and demolished their houses.

“Because of that, his supporters resorted to what they are doing today. You see in the case of the Niger Delta militants, the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua sent an aeroplane to bring them, he sat down with them and discussed with them, they were cajoled, and they were given money and granted amnesty.
“They were trained in some skills and were given employment, but the ones in the north were being killed and their houses were being demolished. They are different issues, what brought this? It is injustice”.

No amount of white-washing will change the fact that the man has ties with these jihadists. Turji is not the first terrorist to be linked to this same man, there's a video of terrorists singing mattawale's praises in hausa language.
The sensible thing to do is to remove the man from that position, how can your defense minister be linked multiple times to the same terrorists he is supposed to be fighting and you as president will still leave him in such a sensible position? The C-in-C is also culpable, swift judgement is coming and anyone involved will not be spared no matter how highly placed.

He met with officials of a state government does not mean he met with the governor. Ribadu recently led a high powered FG delegation to the US and they met with very top officials of the Trump administration. Can we twist that to mean Ribadu met with Donald Trump?

Turji however denied claims that he was paid ₦30 million as part of the engagement.

Notorious bandits leader, Bello Turji, has confirmed that he held peace talks with officials of the Zamfara State government during the previous administration led by Bello Matawalle who is now the Minister of State for defence.

Turji however denied claims that he was paid ₦30 million as part of the engagement.

In an audio message circulated online, Turji rejected allegations made by Musa Kamara, a former peace mediator appointed by the Zamfara State government, describing the claim of a ₦30 million payoff as “a lie.”

“By Allah, since I was born, I have never possessed even five million naira,” Turji said. “What I am doing is not for personal gain. We were never given that ₦30 million you are talking about.”

Turji said the meeting with state officials was part of a peace initiative and insisted that he did not personally benefit financially from the process. He accused Kamara of giving “false testimony” and betraying the trust established during the negotiations.

“We agreed on peace when the Zamfara State government appointed you,” Turji said. “But what you are saying now is full of lies. I did not even receive three million naira.”

The bandit leader also accused former political leaders in Zamfara and Sokoto states of fuelling violence in the region, alleging that they armed groups and encouraged the formation of vigilantes that targeted Fulani communities.

“We say openly that former governors of Zamfara and Sokoto, alongside Ahmed Sani Yerima, are responsible for the calamities that befell these states,” Turji claimed, calling for their arrest and investigation.

In the message, Turji sought to portray his actions as a response to insecurity and alleged injustice, insisting that he was not acting on behalf of any political interest.

“We are not politicians, and we are not tools of politicians,” he said. “There is no human being backing us.”

Turji, who has been linked to mass killings, kidnappings, and large-scale displacement across Zamfara and neighbouring states, did not address specific accusations of attacks attributed to his group.

Instead, he framed his comments as a personal defence, saying he was answering “before Allah alone.”

Nigerian security agencies have repeatedly identified Bello Turji as one of the most dangerous armed group leaders operating in the North-West, with the military previously declaring him wanted over terror-related activities.

Turji operates in Nigeria. Buhari and Malami went all the way to Kenya to kidnap Nnamdi Kalu, because of cheap cash from crude oil in the delta region.
This country is in tatters.

More reason, I don't rate most Nigerians, we can only bark we dare not bite, our politicians understand this so well.

I'm 100% sure that somebody is on this thread either doubting this or ready to twist the whole narrative to make the so called government appear like a saint. Those are the problem we face here.
