Akatugba was trying to be all sanctimonious with his criticism of the list couple of days ago until another journalist burst his bubble by reminding him how he lobbied for Maduka to be called up to the SE when he was just an unknown playing in the lower divisions of German football.
Not surprised. Many of our sports journalists are a bunch of hypocritical clowns.

I watched the so-called highlights of the game Uzoho played in that conference league. It seems he has worked a bit on his ball clearance but the werey is still somewhat shaky in certain moments, punching balls directly towards opponents, having dodgy positioning etc. Even the saves he made didn't look too convincing. I do NOT trust him, and I don't see him lasting a full 90 mins at the AFCON without conceding at least once or twice per game.

I hope not. People are saying he may start to give Nwabali more time to recuperate.

Removing Iwobi for Tolu was totally wrong
Removing the same Tolu for Awaziem was wrong
Ekong not coming in to take penalties was wrong

He is not a good coach

I love a coach that's straight forward and blunt. I will talk to Mujtahida to finalize a deal with you, you will take over from coach Brazil at Kwara United.

I'm already on Sir Kog45 neck to make that happen. My darling United needs someone like you as a coach.

Honestly I don’t understand why there’s always an uproar whenever a northerner is invited to the Super Eagles. Are they not Nigerians as well? Some of the reactions here feel deeply tribalistic. People keep shouting nepotism yet in a 28-man squad only 3 players are from the North.

The ones that constantly fail to qualify us for the WCs are the lawals and fagos I guess

you are the first person to allude to their northern status btw. Im sure people were only complaining because they are northerners and not because salim plays for a little known club out of croatia and usman muhammed plays in second tier isreal. Definitely because of tribalism.

He will, nwabali is unfit. And that's my anger with them foisting him back into reckoning when he's not even in top 5 for Eagles. No call up and fiam, he's in Afcon and Maduka isnt? Onana 2.0 deserves that spot if Maduka no dey.

Rafiu is a pure number 9 while Fago can play across the forward line. Fago has been playing on the left yet has 5 goals in 6 games! No one is better than the other but Fago holds the advantage cos he can play across the frontline. Ikebpa was our star going to AFCON 2000, Ike Uche in 2013 but it was Aghawonder and Ideyye respectively from no where that stole the show.

Can you show me highlights of Salim Fago. The few ones I've seen aren't more impressive from what I've seen from the likes of Tolu and Onuachu.

Cyriel Dessers na ajebutter striker. He struggles with physicality. I'll have preferred a Rafiu Durosinmi to him honestly

Sir, Nigeria is no pushover when it comes to the AFCON tournament.
The chances of Nigeria reaching the semi-final is 90%.
I have no list in any particular order.

This Nigerian team .... No one can say for sure.

For me, Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco. Any of the 3 will clinch the trophy

It's probably your Naija-bias and emotional attachment to the team that has you listing Nigeria as top 3 favourites.

For me, after that listless performance against DR Congo and the teams apparent overdependence on Osimhen, I've lost confidence in the Super Eagles and have had to re-assess how good the team is.

My ranking reflects recent team performances and the squad depths.
