Better for that woman to drop that friendship in the "It was nice but now it is gone!" pile immediately, or else, she will end up with more than just a warning next. There is a woman who feels she has finally arrived now that she has a husband. You had better let her go her own way before you end up demonized by her. 🥱🥱🥱

That friendship is as good as gone from that day for me.

What could she have called the man other than his name ?

Even if they have children

The universe knows I hate calling people 'mama this ' or Baba that .

Lol...Nigerians and pettiness. I have observed that once a Nigerian woman gets married, her husband's name automatically changes. It becomes a taboo to call him by his name.

Some women will even frown if you address their horsebands by their names. This makes me question the nature of their relationships.

If you claim you married your friend, then addressing him by his first name should come effortlessly, and shouldn't be a big deal.

I don't even have friends.

My husband's name is even hard to pronounce, so people just address him as "your husband".

Lolz, From dating, you'll identity a rude partner if you are smart. Even in marriage, address it immediately and sternly 📌💯.

Better the warning than stories that touch later.

See how EVIL women can be?

Someone is warning you not to call her husband so lowly and the next thing you do is to say BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CHILD THEN. What happened to adding Mr or making reference to him in 3rd person? I can't call my friend's wife by her name.

So you will continue to disrespect the man in front of his wife till they have a child? And you call yourself a FRIEND?

Adding a Mister before the name would suffice

Did you read the part where she stated that she was friends with the husband in school? If you don't call your friend's wife by her name, that's your problem. But don't impose your 1890 archaic mentality on others.

He is now married. Call him a nickname or just at "Mr" this or stay away from him.

So just because we were in school means you will forever be childish and refuse to effect changes with respect to new status especially when it has been pointed out to you?

Once again, I ask. Are you married?
Do your friends call your wife by name and do you call your friend's wife by name?

Feel free to childishly evade the question AGAIN.
Re: Lady Shares How A Friend Warned Her After She Addressed Her Hubby By His Name by Bahamas95(m): 10:40am On Dec 18, 2025
So she has forgotten they've been friends before he met her? That lady should better avoid the wife, she's toxic.

I went to the palace with my former boss to take estimate for a wiring project and we heard a man call the king by name. He just called him casually and we were kinda surprised........It was later one of the palace workers told us they're childhood friends. Heaven didn't fall.

If you walk on eggshells around your friend because of their new status, then that is your problem. If as a friend, I cannot address you by your name because you are married, then there is no point in being your friend.

the strange mentality of many Nigerian women. Some will even tell you never to call them by their name, but by the name of their kids, or even call them 'wife' etc.

All these are signs of women who have nothing going for them. They see getting married and having children as their greatest achievement. What a shame.
