Trade surplus on paper, hunger surplus in reality. If exports are booming, why is the average Nigerian poorer than in 2022? Numbers are good, living standards are worse.

Some people will not like this because their brain is been programmed to cry over any good news about Nigeria or other region in Nigeria apart from theirs.

They are well known losers, complainers, and can never see anything good. They only see ethnicity, religion and politics in everything and unless the story is elevating their deflated ego, they will always be sad about it.

Instead of celebrating or writing their critism or observations about this particular new, they will be doing "whataboutism".

The ecxhange rate floatation worked. The quantum leap between Q2 Γ nd Q3 in 2023 shows a 902% jump within one year.

While a trade surplus is something to celebrate it is more important to achieve it through the front door than the back door.

A trade surplus through increased productivity and export would have been more celebrated than a trade surplus from impoverishing the citizens and reducing their purchasing power thereby reducing demand for imported goods because they cannot afford it.

Any progression that doesn't reflect in the standard of living of the masses is mirage. This government have every opportunity to make lives better with all financial policies they have put in place but corruption won't allow them. It's well

Maximum Propaganda as usual..
What is really the meaning of trade surplus?
Forcing the citizens to go without imported basic essentials like staple foods using high tarrifs , while boasting about a computer generated "trade surplus"huh

All these when you have not made any noticeable progress in either diversifying your economy or even improving on the quantity of the normal basic raw materials and hydrocarbons that you export!
Where are the finished products being exported? Name them!

What's so hard for you guys to understand

We are making gains but what we are gaining is still not sufficient to run our budget, we are 200 million plus, because what we are gaining is not sufficient enough of course we have to look outward it doesn't mean we are not making gains in our economy regardless.

What we are gaining is still not enough

Imagine having trade surplus for 10 years straight our economy we surely boom.

Right now foreign investors are keeping their eyes in Nigeria, what will need in Nigeria is stability a government that will maintain all these gains not another government that will set us backward with change of policies and erode all the gains.

Go to any General Hospital near you and ask the management there how difficult it has become for many poor people to keep up with the skyrocketing prices of essential medicines. Diabetic patients, cancer patients., ulcer patients, etc.

Most of these drugs are imported and are now out of the reach of the common man because of Tinubus wayward tariff policies and an ever convulsing naira. Basic antibiotics are now 4 to 5 times the price before Pablo took over...

I guess because folks can't buy these stuffs, which means that imports related to such products will drop, we can go ahead and boast of a healthy 'balance of payments' regime under your masters government.., even if that means many poor Nigerians dying in droves!?

Administrative bimbos and their weird economic formular..

When propaganda becomes statistics. Do they know what a trade surplus is?

You cant have a trade surplus when your imports are greater than your exports unless they want to include the stolen crude ships captured in Venezuela and the minerals stolen and ferried out of the country on a daily basis, the revenues for which arent recognized in our GDP.

I hope they re not recognizing the crazy foreign loans as trade revenue too.

Sanity is becoming a scarce resource in the country's ruling class.

Go and ask those exporters if this government is not better than others before now. If you are sitting somewhere and not thinking how to improve yourself, that’s your headache.

What do you understand as Trade surplus?

You guys need to read wide to understand how economy works.

Trade surplus doesn't mean the money realized belongs to government covers.

It simply means money realized from the goods sold to other countries by government, companies and Individuals is more than the money spent to acquire goods and services from othr countries.
