solonnachi:All Congo needs to do is to provide all the documentation that the players met the domestic law requirements and that will be the basis of FIFA verdict anything less then countries will just be smuggling players from anywhere to represent them |

JohnBullMySon:But FIFA can nullify a result on the grounds of fraud. It is a fraud on the part of DR Congo to issue a passport to Wan-Bissaka when their constitution forbids dual citizenship. That case could be argued and proven as fraud. The 2007 moratorium was to suspend enforcing punishment on those with dual citizenship, not to suspend the law against dual citizenship |

Hahaha! It's the same time of the period, the time of the moment when E.F.Males will crawl out of their bunkers to watch the news flying around rekindling their hopes for World Cup Qualification. Only to be disappointed when they loose to Egypt today. ![]() Afobear,we will be waiting for them here from next week.

CapitalCee:You get time to Dey reply that m***u. With his long epistle like that of the Nigerian constitution. I just discovered Usman Mohammed I'd the guy that scored the wonderful, stunning goal against Athletico Madrid in Uyo. That alone proves he is a player with confidence and moreover, skilled! I wonder how many players in the current SE fold can take on a player one-one not to talk about taking up to 3 players at once and scoring an exceptional goal. Is it their best attacking player(Iwobi) that dances around the ball and always jittery infront of goal that will give them Afcon? ![]() Usman's inclusion is long overdue and it's a welcomed development. |

Bannedlargejr:This is what I told here last month. Just like in the case of Gift Orban. Why hasn't he been cleared after a long time. It's almost 3yrs he said he wants to represent Nigeria, but FIFA dey look into his matter. |

Dannyxy:Yes. Being screwed? 💯💯 But, if that will make FIFA to cancel their qualification, that's another food of thought. |

As Afcon 2025 approaches fast and furious. Why is Victor Osimhen not yet in camp with the squad ? Osimhen might be the best performer right now in the squad, but he has to drop that diva attitude for the him and the team to succeed. Up super eagles of Nigeria. |

chrisooblog:keshi did well with the unknown squad he had in 2013. Or is because the players are from the eastern region that a lot of people here are complaining?. The 2014 World Cup squad selection may have looked dodgy but he is the first and only indigenous coach to lead Nigeria to the knockout stage of the World Cup. RIP keshi despite how the federation frustrated and stifled your efforts he still managed to created diamonds and emeralds from raw stones. |

Whether Federal character or not, Nigeria is a Federation. Our constitution stipulates every region needs representatives at the highest level of the ministry, and sports is one of them. Football is one(if not solely) harmonizing factor in this country that brings joy to millions of its citizen. Every region will be happy to have atleast one representative invested to the team. NFF inclusion of 1 or 2 northerners in a wide list of 28 players shouldn't be an issue of debate but our task is to pressure them, in integrating the Best Form of athletes into the fold. We have had the best crop of players from the northern regions including our immediate captain Ahmed Musa who was retired unceremoniously that set a record many are yet to break till this day. Let for us know that the term "federal character" is an active terminology in the Nigerian constitution and will always be upheld whenever matter of national interest arises. |

solonnachi:The issue is if we keep struggling against so called minnows in African football as seen during our wcq so don’t blame people if they don’t have confidence in the team to do well in Afcon. It’s not their fault at all. I agree we must all get behind the team no matter what but mhen this one hard this time around hence the apathy towards Afcon. For me am watching Afcon as a neutral this time around |

Your car has a flat tire. So instead of getting a fresh healthy tire with a long lifespan, you just decide to pick up the cover of a plastic bucket, punch a huge hole in it and find a way to install it in place of the flat tire. Mind you, the plastic bucket cover has been sitting in a shed for a decade, is visibly cracked, and it is not certain whether it will even manage to hold up the car's weight if the car should just move an inch. This analogy might sound silly but I believe it captures how unbelievably stew peed some people in this thread are. What we have is not good enough, therefore let's make it worse and burn the whole thing down. That's the extent of critical thinking in this thread. No wonder your national team sucks harder than poorly boiled eggs. |

AFCON group of death is Group B Zimbabwe will Park bus & frustrate some teams Other exciting groups are D & F but B will be filled with drama I don’t see Zimbabwe ending up with 0 points. They’d possibly get 2 or 3 points They will end up third in the group with their haram football Drama filled group loading South Africa will defeat Egypt but struggle against Angola & Zimbabwe |

If (a very big if) FIFA suspends DR Congo and Nigeria eventually makes it to the world cup 1. Will Troost-Ekong come out of retirement to play in the world cup? 2. How will Maduka Okoye be feeling with his decision to opt out of the AFCON and the possibility of the coach axing him from the team and not selecting him for America? I imagine both would have conflicted emotions, and be ruing their decisions. |

yinkeys:Don't know about this. Zimbabwe fired the coach that saw them through the WC qualifying campaign with halal tactics. If they switch up and start from scratch, which they likely will, dem fit collect wella for this AFCON, especially with all their opponents being bloodlusted for this AFCON. Egypt and SA mean business. They might get a draw against Angola though. Maybe even beat them. |

semid4lyfe:WC is far away June. Enough time for Ekong to rethink (though idc for his return) and Okoye to play himself back to the team (though I think he is a freeloader) |

semid4lyfe:It is what it is. Ekong has to stay put no matter what. He retired on a high note with mountains of accolades from his peers. All of that would be watered down and rendered nonsensical if he returns. |
