It is. I'm surprised Seun is mentioning Gemini. Most techies don't know Claude AI is a better coding assistant and has its own IDE, even on the mobile app.
Claude AI handles React, Node.js and Three.js very well and all in a single code repository. Better than Copilot even.

Seun 3D games are elementary. A challenge to solve a real world issue like the Lagos Angel Investment Network does or Y Combinator is better.
When I say it's not easy, I know exactly what I'm saying. It's relative. Most people can actually prompt and whether seun mentioned tools like Gemini or chatgpt is irrelavnt. Those with zero knowledge of coding have zero chance of winning. Those with zero knowledge of ui/UX won't stand a chance either.

If I'm the judge, some technicalities(codes and UI/UX design) must be met which is beyond prompting with Gemini, chatgpt or any ai tools.

Only two people out of millions of Nairalanders on this space will win and don't worry, an actual coding challenge is coming so calma lol

Seun:
Hello,

In the interest of shining a spotlight on the coding talents on Nairaland, we are conducting a series of challenges.

The first one is a 3D Ludo Game challenge. This requires you to use AI to help you create an enjoyable Ludo game in a single html file using three.js via CDN to display the game in 3D. The Ludo rules are up to you to decide but must be made clear to the users.

Steps:
Develop the game as specified (single html file) using git for source control.
Push the source code to a private github repo before the deadline.
After the deadline, make the github repo public and post it on this thread for assessment.
If you touch or make any change to the repo after the deadline, you'll be disqualified.

Tips:
Use a powerful AI Like Gemini 3 Pro (free on Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity) for planning.
You will be graded based on everything that makes your game superior to other entries.
Such as the unique features (very important), code quality, UI, and the sweetness of the game.

The prize for the best entry is N250,000. The runner-up gets: N125,000.
The deadline is 10:00am Nigerian time on Thursday, the 18th of December, 2025.

Good luck!
Seun (Founder, Nairaland)
here is my humble submission https://github.com/Tpepper2001/Ludo-challenge i will make it public 10:00am on thursday as requested. Goodluck to everyone

@Seun I'm done and have saved in the Github repo.

My problem is that I'm still a novice in UI/UX so my graphics would be poor. You can focus on the game and the rules and not the graphics sha. grin

You don't have to be good in graphics to vibe engineer good graphics. Just tell the AI how you want it to be in a logical way and try try try again.

Who is going to do that for such minuscule amount of money?
It’s not really about the money. It’s more about competing with others and winning. That alone is growth. It’s a clear confirmation that you’re good at what you do, and honestly, it would boostsm your confidence significantly.

When you consistently prove yourself in competitive situations and win, you'll begin to trust your abilities more. Everything shouldn't be about money.

I'm not interested in the competition. Experienced people know promoting a single HTML game with Claude AI is elementary and what beginners should be trying out, not a challenge pushed by the owner of Africa's biggest forum.

I can do this without vibe coding. This challenge makes no sense and huge waste of effort and time.

Seun, if you're seeing many of these arrogant bhuffons sharing their opinions with no track record of doing anything of their own thats worthy of reference calling the challenge a waste of time, this and that - it's normal.

They're a very sad set of people. Do well to continue the challenge series in increasing complexity.

Wow! Mr. Seun, I must commend the wonderful work you're doing here. At some time, it seemed as though Nairaland was just abandoned.

But with all the wonderful features plus this great opportunity you keep rolling out these days, I feel compelled to always come here to spend some time here even though I'm often busy.
