ATTENTION: ALL POLITICAL APPOINTEES

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IN ELECTIVE OFFICE

In light of the recent increase in political activities within the state, and having observed with keen interest the diverse aspirations for leadership roles aimed at promoting good governance, and advancing the laudable achievements of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia’s administration, we wish to state the following:

1. Political appointees interested in contesting for elective positions are kindly requested to indicate their interest and submit a formal resignation letter accordingly.

2. All letters or expressions of interest for the office of your choice should be forwarded to the Office of the Deputy Governor of Benue State not later than Thursday, 18th December 2025. This will enable their onward transmission to His Excellency, the Executive Governor, for further consideration and processing.

Your prompt attention to this matter is highly appreciated.

You are the one talking rubbish laced with chronic bitterness. How is Gov Alia's message rubbish?

Some of you have taken your opposition to the extreme that you don't even pay attention to the reality. Why should someone aspiring to contest in 2027 still be holding political office in almost early 2026?

The law says any public servant or appointees has 90 days after primary election to resign cos primaries are not recognized by the electoral act. There’s even a Supreme Court judgement on that matter. But Nigeria overzealous politicians will always misbehave.

If Rev father without wife(wives) and children will fail in providing good governance, then there is something very wrong with Nigeria and his political party

Rev Father, it's too early. You do that after primary election i.e 90 days before the election. That's the position of the law.

Inexperience is a problem.

It's not any normal procedure but a total nonsense. Election is in 2027 and you want them to resign now. No where it has been done that way.

What do they mean by "For further consideration and processing"?

You are not smart and I have witnessed it several times here. Your disposition to matters are laced with mediocrity. Why are other States not telling their politicians to resign. Where and when what this governor is asking contestants to do has been done before? They are laws regarding government appointees to resign before campaign begins that APC appointees even floated then.
It's to early for this rubbish. Always stand for truth, honesty, right things over politics. Not everything is politics.

It's not normal.
They do so the week before nomination for the next election cycle commences i.e. between March - April.

Doing it now is because perhaps the Governor wants to defect. He has been in a long-standing battle with the SGF. On any day, the SGF controls the National hence Alia is 90/100 defecting from the APC. So, for now everybody identify where you stand!
