Cites lack of patriotism in report [b]says : Three million vulnerable households have received N75,000 each under the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer. A total of 396,000 students now benefit from tuition fee support through NELFUND. Over 250,000 MSMEs have received grants in 2025. The National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme continues to serve 9.8 million pupils across 53,000 schools, employing 200,000 local cooks and supporting thousands of smallholder farmers. The Presidency has faulted a recent Daily Trust editorial as exaggerated, alarmist, and misleading, accusing the newspaper of distorting Nigeria’s economic situation and ignoring visible government efforts which have eradicated hardship across the country. In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, the Presidency said while it welcomes criticism from the media, such critiques must be grounded in context, and national patriotism. what about the level of hunger in nigeria and south west as a region. Please somebody should define the meaning of hunger to our dearest FG. . defination of hunger In politics, humanitarian aid, and the social sciences, hunger is defined as a condition in which an individual does not have the physical or financial capability to consume sufficient food to meet basic nutritional needs for a sustained period. In the field of hunger relief, the term hunger is used in a sense that surpasses the typical desire for food that all humans experience, also referred to as an appetite. FG is saying nonsense. Hunger and Northern Nigeria are 5 and 6. In fact, the North will be very angry if there is no Hunger. Or what do you say about a state government that has budgeted over 10 billion Naira for Pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia while millions of its youths and kids are begging and sleeping on the streets?  There has been hunger in the North for decades. Before I continue, why is USA able to feed itself, and export food , and even store surplus food (eg they have a place there where they store surplus milk. Just milk.). Because the USA relies not on subsitence farming , but on mechanized farming. Here in Nigeria, most of our farming is done by one man with his hoe, one woman with her vegetable allotment, one herder with their herd of cow. IN America, a few farms can outproduce a whole country because of something called mechanzied farming. In Nigeria less than 10% of farming done is mechanized. Add the fact that our road system in the rural area is wack and we don't have good enough railway system, and our storage system is wack (we lose far more tomatoes than we should because poor storage) and you get why North has been hungry for decades, despite everything done.
