There has been hunger in the North for decades.

Before I continue, why is USA able to feed itself, and export food , and even store surplus food (eg they have a place there where they store surplus milk. Just milk.).

Because the USA relies not on subsitence

farming , but on mechanized farming.


Good evening, commercial/mechanized farming is only possible and can be sustained where there constant power supply to preserve farm products produced by farmers.

In the North, Lafia to be precise, during mango season Lafia have a whole lot of mango plantation which we can't preserve. I bought about 30 pieces of mangos for 1k but currently, there is no mango.

Constant power supply is the reason why we are lagging behind, time will fail me to talk about pepper, tomatoes, onion, and other perishable foods, thank you.

Here in Nigeria, most of our farming is done by one man with his hoe, one woman with her vegetable allotment, one herder with their herd of cow. IN America, a few farms can outproduce a whole country because of something called mechanzied farming. In Nigeria less than 10% of farming done is mechanized.

Add the fact that our road system in the rural area is wack and we don't have good enough railway system, and our storage system is wack (we lose far more tomatoes than we should because poor storage) and you get why North has been hungry for decades, despite everything done.
