Assuming FIFA rules that DR Congo fielded ineligible players during the playoff and African group-stage qualifiers, and they are penalised with a three-point deduction and a minus-three goal adjustment in all affected matches, what would happen next? Would there be fresh African playoff fixtures, or would Nigeria and Cameroon face each other to determine a new African representative for the continental playoff? |

The most frustrating thing about this forum is that it stifles the ability to express things in the most blunt and realistic manner without coddling words. Now I have no choice but to panel beat my responses for overly sensitive men, but no wahala. Just for the sake of the ignoramuses that are piling on my mentions blindly, but forgot to bring their critical thinking along: I'm not directly praising Morocco or hyping them as unbeatable. I was making allusions to the form of the current Super Eagles and comparing them to what I saw in the Arab Cup finals. That's all. In fact, I was speaking more to the ability of the SE (OUR OWN TEAM) than any Morocco or Jordan or whatever. I'm not sure how or where my comments suddenly transmogrified to mean that the Morocco team is unbeatable, but I guess I have to sympathize with the fact that people have a special way of reading posts that may or may not fall in line with normal reasoning. This is QueenJazz, in case you couldn't tell. Oh, and Samueltemi or whatever you call yourself, please get back on my ignore list. Thank you. |

When last did we lose a match? What has that Morocco won since 197..? Arguing with someone who uses qualifiers to judge a major tournament is a waste of time. We have won a bronze and silver in the last 3 AFCONs. Show me other African's record! QueenJazz: |

Bossoflife25:When last did we lose? Here's a better question: when last did we actually impress with a consistently good run that lasted at least 1 full year? Scraping through qualifiers isn't the flex you think it is. Morocco demolished MAJOR opponents en route to World Cup history while we sat at home. That's arguably better than anything we've achieved in the past decade. It's amusing you don't feel silly citing unblemished records against Zimbabwe and Lesotho to prove your point brilliantly. Get real. |

Bannedlargejr:Change of nationality and player eligibility for international football fall under FIFA’s authority, not that of continental football bodies. Still, you're right. It'd be interesting to see if DR Congo fields them in the AFCON. |

Bossoflife25:Well, they beat Belgium, then eliminated Spain and Portugal... unless you consider these teams minnows in your bizarre little world. South Africa beating them later doesn't retroactively erase those performances. You understand how linear time works, right? Or does every achievement vanish the moment someone loses afterward? Are you genuinely this confused about basic chronology and context? Wehdone, Mr. Pundit. You are doing well. Morocco beat three European powers on football's biggest stage. But according to you, they eventually lost, so nothing matters. Congratulations on your lack of understanding. |

I watched the Arab Cup beginning to end and I can confidently say the overall quality is several steps below please. This same Moroccan side that struggled vs Oman & Syria at this same Arab Cup?? Most folks here know I am Team Morocco (main team especially) but this Moroccan Arab Cup side are no match pls. It is Hakimi and co that can match Nigeria pound for pound, quality for quality and danger for danger. Look, Egypt featured most of their strongest lads against a Nigerian side without 5 starters in Osimhen, Ndidi, Chukwueze, Iwobi and Bassey and managed to get a controversial 2-1 win. Only aging Salah and Marmoush were major stars missing for Egypt. We may have bottled the WC ticket last month vs DRC via pens but abeg, dont let it fool u into thinking this low quality moroccan side at the arab cup stand a chance against us coz they dont in all multiverse timelines. Unexciting news ahead states that DR Congo won the case. Majorly from congolese media so authenticity is sketchy but if true i expect a certain congolese chatgpt warrior to come and gloat in our faces as he has conveniently dodged the proceedings since the noise started here. |

TheSuperNerd:Thank you for your response. First, I'll give you points for actually presenting an argument and not just spewing blind rhetoric like some people here. Now let me reiterate that my concern isn't specifically about Morocco's Arab Cup squad. For the life of me I'm not sure why people keep missing this and obsessing over Morocco. If it's the way I worded it, let me know, but I'm trying to make a point here about our team form and mentality. Not Morocco!! Earlier on this same thread, I already noted that even with our second squad, we had Egypt shook, even when they fielded about 80% of their main squad. All of this I've noted before, so you're not really telling me anything new there. If we pushed them close without key starters, that does speak to our underlying quality when fully assembled. My problem is how reserved and overly cautious we seem to be when we're on the ball. We're not easy to dispossess, especially on our best days, but I don't feel like we take enough advantage of our leverage to create chances and drive the game forward. There were many moments in that Egypt game where it felt to me like our positioning would have been better and we'd have been quicker with our transitions, releasing the ball early. But we didn't do that. The next thing, we start making frustrating backpasses! SE games can get mighty boring at times when they play with such lethargy and that's my only problem. DR Congo didn't beat us because they were better. They beat us because they were fearless and they wanted it more. We on the other hand were full of nerves and it showed from the moment Osimhen left up until the penalties which we absolutely flopped (probably the worst penalty shootout I've ever seen from the SE). Plus fatigue after playing extra time against Gabon didn't help matters for us. The same can be said of the Moroccan and Jordan teams that played the Arab Cup tonight. Quality wise, they're never on our level. But the intensity, drive and hunger they displayed is something I haven't really seen with the Super Eagles. Also, and this is just an afterthought, but I have a serious issue with Eric Chelle's profiling of players. I don't see why Akinsanmiro should be playing number 10 and Fisayo playing as number 6 with Ejuke as second striker. If you can make sense of this, I'd love to hear it because I can't find the words to explain the logic behind those decisions. I hope Eric Chelle won't sabotage our campaign with his experimentations. SUMMARY: Pound for pound, we (Nigeria) are better than most (if not all) teams on the continent, but questionable tactics and what I can only describe as low self confidence is seriously holding us back at times. |

Amedino99:If I'm being honest here, I won't really be surprised. I just don't want to rain on anyone's parade because it feels like nearly everyone here is arguing for the case to go in our favor. The whole case is far too convoluted and/or confusing and not as clear cut and convincing as the SA and Eritrea case. There's too many variables involved. It took me a while to understand what was really at stake with this DRC case, and even then I wasn't fully convinced. Let's just focus on the AFCON if you ask me. |

I have said before in another way that Chelle's player selections and profiling is gonna be key. I was not pleased with he kept moving Akinsanmiro around and away from his strongest role vs Egypt and within 45mins too. Fisayo was meant to go central or switch between attacking centrally and the RHS while Akinsanmiro penetrate the final third through the LHS and also centrally depending on the gaps between the defensive lines with his natural mezzala profile. Seeing Akinsanmiro hugging the touchline a few times in that first half worried me. Ejuke was meant to be the LW outlet but he stayed too central for his own good. Chelle pushed Fisayo too wide right at first too. He should been kept closer to the Central/RHS zones with Osayi eating up the wide space on the right. Too many experimentations were on show vs Egypt and really muddled things up. I sure hope Chelle gets it right in Morocco. We have a tournament team that can go all the way if he picks right and if the players also show up (e.g. Ndidi should better bag his first NT goal at this Afcon & cut out his recent tendency to sleep on the role or get overzealous in front of goal). FIFA Dismisses Nigeria Protest Over DR Congo Player Eligibility By Francis Onyach Kenya, December 18 2025 FIFA has dismissed Nigeria’s protest regarding the participation of an allegedly ineligible player fielded by DR Congo in their recent 2026 World Cup qualifying match, upholding the result of the fixture. The match, which saw Nigeria get eliminated from the qualifiers, was not taken well by the Super Eagles. |

No Surprises here. I recall as far back as 2017 some of us here predicted Ndidi as a future Super Eagles captain. It has come to pass. But I never imagined it would come at a time when I have major doubt over his ability to play his role to top effect. I pray he really turns up in Morocco. The Super Eagles skipper band is a heavy one. I hope he bears it well. QueenJazz: |

I want to believe he will prove us both wrong. It is what I want. If he replicates his showing vs Gabon recently and even tops it by a few more performance metrices, he will be unplayable in Morocco. He is Skippo now. No hiding place. QueenJazz: |
