How can someone under investigation been led to armoury department with four or more people shoot himself without being restrain.
And to think he wasn't cuffed.
And to hear them say, it happened bcus the armoury has electronic device that only he can access.
So when he was using either his finger print or whatever to open the armoury, where were the people who led him there. Bcus after opening it, they just can't stay outside and allow only him enter inside.

The deceased, who keeps the armory is a DSP, while the one he supposed to is an Inspector (a junior office by more than one rank). If the inspector isn’t acting on authority to be able to covertly make such reasonable requests from a senior officer, then he must be either mad or gladly gambled with his life. Actually by law an autopsy is supposed to be carried out even if the cause of death is ' known' to confirm beyond reasonable doubt, and for legal purposes ( the dead officer's relatives can decide to sue the police for killing their breadwinner, and an autopsy can confirm if he indeed shot himself or was shot by others. As there were other policemen in the room and there was a struggle beforehand)

It's just that in Nigeria most people prefer to bury their dead quickly. Then we don't have enough qualified pathologists and doctors too.Otherwise legally every time someone dies, an autopsy should be done.

In the UK , a daughter of a friend of my parents died there of cancer. They didn't release the corpse at all until an autopsy was done which meant her father had to wait for some weeks in the UK before he could bring the body back home to naija for burial. Also in that same UK even if it is clear someone died of suicide, an autopsy must be done.

Speaking of suicide, there have been cases where thanks to an autopsy, a apparent case of suicide actually turned out to be murder

autopsy is supposed to reveal the truth. Whether he shot himself or was shot at based on the distance and angle the shot came from. And even time of death. But I don't think that will work in this case because it's the police that issued the statement that he committed suicide. And it's the same police that's conducting autopsy.
