Bayelsa has 3 State-owned universities:
1. Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island
2. University of Africa, Toru-Orua, Sagbama
3. Bayelsa Medical University

Exousiang01:
I don't think this data is right.
Because I know NKST university Mka is a private university.
I don't know about other states tho......

That said.
I don't think the number of institutions should actually be our focus.
The quality should be the issue.
We had better baked graduates when we had lesser number of universities in the country.
Now we have graduates who can't even put together a CV or write an employment application letter.

When you have sat in an interview with these graduates you would be surprised that people talk about unemployment, because the truth is that the youths are unemployable.....

It's heartbreaking to see today that SSCE holders 20years ago are better educated than university graduates today.

People, esp those on this Forum interpret data/statistics literally without knowing the technicalities in there.

Bayelsa is a small State, so it is understandable

muyico:
Osun State and Oyo State owned it

It's technically theirs as it has been split.

Oyo state now owns the University while Osun takes the Teaching Hospital.

muyico:
include oyo state??
only one federal University!
No state University

Oyo State hosts several universities, including
University of Ibadan (UI): A premier federal university located in Ibadan.
State-Owned Universities.
Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo (EAUE): Formerly a College of Education, now a comprehensive university.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso: A joint state university.
The Technical University (Tech-U), Ibadan: Focused on technology and innovation.
Private Universities
Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo: A private university.
Atiba University, Oyo: A private institution in Oyo town.
Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan: A private university known for being one of the more expensive options.
Dominican University, Ibadan: A private Catholic university.
Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan: A private university.
Other Institutions (Some may offer degrees)
The Polytechnic, Ibadan: A major polytechnic.
Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igbo-Ora: Offers agricultural and tech programs.
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN): Offers distance learning.

christejames:
The record for Borno and Benue states are misleading...

Benue actually has 5 that is with inclusion of one private university which is not indicated there.

Borno also have at least 4 UNIVERSITIES Federal universities should be two if you include the Army university

Indeed, University of Mkar . Don't mind these nonsense statistics.

Zico5:
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso
Oyo State Technical University Ibadan
Emmanuel Alayande University of Education. Oyo, Oyo State

And recently federal university of agriculture and technology Okeho.

muyico:

Do your research on it, it is a state university

This is misleading! Zamfara State is having only one Federal University and one state own and a private university of still functional, so also some States. Let me check again am coming...

Wickedtruths:
They don't need Universities. Their governors are busy paying Imams, paying bandits and renovating cemeteries.

Everyone knows you came here hope to foam over some warped statistics about the omonna people

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

muyico:
Both owned by two states
Osun State and Oyo State

It's now fully owned by the Oyo State Government. The Makinde administration has paid some compensation to Osun State.

Yobe wash hand comot from anything way forward.

Even without reading through, I know that my beloved north will be proudly represented here, it's what it's.

SmartPolician:
Northern Nigeria shouldn't be having conventional universities. The should have universities that focus on agriculture. The problem of our universities is that they aren't built to solve local problems. That's why places like Katsina have a maritime university

how can Katsina have maritime academy are you sure? But Katsina have no access to the Atlantic Ocean how will they conduct practical aspects of the maritime

Bayelsa State have 3 state universities.

1. Niger Delta University
2. University of Africa
3. Bayelsa Medical University
