Scenes when the CAF Nations League kicks off and keeps the Vibes and attention alive on the African game. The nations league will be annual or within a 2yr period according to reports so that's still something major to look forward to in-between every 4yr cycle. jihday: |

TheSuperNerd:I also understand the nations league will be regional with something like a super 4 or super 5 at the end. our region will be the toughest, imagine battling Senegal and Ivory Coast for a single slot |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by mrwilliams9(m): 6:31pm On Dec 20, 2025 |
The biggest issue a lot of European clubs had with AFCON was the mid-season scheduling, not that it was every 2 years. If AFCON were always hosted in Jun/Jul like it was in 2019, most clubs would have no issue. So moving to every 4 years doesn’t solve the mid-season scheduling issues unless you only play AFCON in North or Southern Africa due to weather conditions in West and Central Africa. CAF got pressured big time by FIFA. It’s clear to see |

I read that too. Regional does not make sense to be honest. If we are gonna do the Nations League, I prefer the Euro Format using Rankings and League strata. We can modify ours to have the Top 8 in Africa excluded from the regionals. The regionals give us the 4 others and the 12 battle at the Finals and then we decide the true Nations League winners. It is crazy if Motsepe does it regionally because he clearly favours his country South Africa here. Easy pathway from such a weak region. Eastern Africa too is a weak region so the regional idea is bollocks if the truly top sides are left out of the main action in the Nations league finals. Also, the window they are looking at is September, October, November of 2029 and 2030 for the 2029/30 nations league. I can understand the angle of logistics but it is still nonsense coz the best are clearly concentrated in West and North Africa. jihday: |

jihday:It’s not just about the physicality of the game afcon is more physical than copa america no let anyone tell you otherwise It’s the unpredictability, excitement and flair afcon has now that has made it a global tournament |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by typicalgamer(m): 7:10pm On Dec 20, 2025 |
mrwilliams9:It solves the issue in a sense that this will only happen in every 4 years instead of 2 or on some rare case 2012/13 1 year gap |

jihday:It seems you still haven’t gotten used to super eagles these highly technical teams we can beat them with physicality and counter play so I’m not scared of Morocco I’m scared of not so good teams that are very physical playstyle Those are the teams that gives us headaches |

typicalgamer:Lol, you are not scared of Morocco, We always find it difficult to beat this north Africa team, the last afcon we got to the final without meeting them. In 2019 we got defeated by Algeria and manage to beat Tunisia by a goal in the third place match. Tunisia came back to hurt us in 2021 in the knockout stage. Be wary of those North Africa team they are deadly. I pray we top the group to avoid morroco. |

DeloitteNG:Sacrifice Iwobi for Akinsanmiro. In a 442 Ndidi need support and that's not Iwobi. Ryan for Osayi .... Osayi is not a defender. If Chelle can retire ekong to bench and Tolu getting sub off few minutes he was brought on... Iwobi should not be a problem neither should Osayi. If possible I will push Bassey to the LB and pair Seyi and Ogbu in their preferred positions |

The super Eagles of Nigeria might be on Their Way to the FIFA World Cup next year because Congo DR made some silly mistakes According to the government of Congo DR Constitution,no person is allowed to have dual citizenship,as a Congo national you cannot Carry a passport of other nations, for you to do that it means you are are can not be a citizen of Congo If you'll ever optain another country passport as a Congolese, before switching back to your original country which is Congo DR,you must deactivate your passport of the former country Aaron wanbisaka is first and foremost a British, he still carries the British passport with him,he still use the British passport to travel, which means he can not be a Congolese citizen For Wanbisaka to represent Congo DR in any international tournament he has to deactivate his British passport otherwise he's illegal This is according to Congo DR Constitution,am not FIFA As it stands, Wanbisaka I not a Congolese, therefore he is not legible to play for Congo until he deactivate his passport Good luck to Nigeria Super Eagles fr qualifying ahead of Congo DR after FIFA investigation is over |

jihday:AFCON happens too frequently. This is an Important move to improve her prestige. It was difficult to argue that a two year tournament is equivalent to a four year one. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by daveP(m): 12:28am On Dec 21, 2025 |
JohnBullMySon:The frequency doesn't determine the prestige though. If so, club competitions will lose value as time flies. It's up to organizers to do whatever is necessary to improve as the next one comes up. Nothing shows we had original ideas of ours. All is kust photocopy of european styles which is bad. Very bad IMO. We can't continue like this. I don't like what will happen to Chan but this so called Nations league, if they don't make it sweet and enough for local players to feel proud about, it will fade off. Overall, everything will still come down to the Leagues. Cos if the Nation League works, mass exodus from the league. League levels may not upgrade one bit. That should be the focus. Seems CAF doesn't know how to force hand for each League to improve. It needs to do that and use the hammer. |
