Uganda Cranes players reportedly boycotted training over unpaid allowances ahead of AFCON qualifiers.

The Ugandan national team’s preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have suffered a major setback after players reportedly boycotted a training session on Saturday over a dispute over unpaid allowances.

According to reports, several members of the squad, refused to take part in training, citing payment delays.

The players are also said to be demanding clarity on the exact allowances they are expected to receive for the duration of their stay in Morocco.

These governments have no problem in finding monies for unproductive entourages to foreign countries ... politicians along with friends and family members ...staying at the best hotels ...but when it comes to a national team .... it's a problem with clarity and delivery. They should boycott practice ... and travel but don't play until settled.... the world will know.

I have never heard of senators, rep members and government appointees especially ministers and commissioners complaining of unpaid allowances.

But to pay service men and men who puts the nations flag on the global stage becomes a big deal.

African n greedy leaders, I still can't understand why players won't receive their allowance, yet they want them to bring back the trophy without good welfare. Nigeria own will soon surface. To whom nothing is given, nothing is expected.

So a boycott of the training session already presents a perfect excuse for a dismal outing at the competition.

Why is this thing mostly synonymous to African countries? Why delay players' allowances? That is the no.1 motivational factor for them to play. This money might have been given to ther FA but they have decided to delay it or siphoned it for their selfish interests
