A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Owerri has ordered the remand of Mrs. Juliet Igwe at the Owerri Correctional Centre over allegations of grievous harm and attempted murder involving a five-year-old girl.



The court ruled that the offence is a serious one, noting that it carries a possible punishment of life imprisonment under the law. Based on this, the magistrate directed that the defendant be remanded in custody pending further proceedings in the case.

If they arrested women when I was a child growing up, then a lot of women would be in jail for molesting children beyond imagination. I witnessed one that rubbed a girl pepper all over her body when I was in primary school , it was a pitiable scene.
