It’s a lie, no cabals can shake Dangote at this level, therefore, he brought the PMS price down because of festive period, the price come up by January.

Simple question. Did BUA need Dangote to keep his price low? If he truly wanted to bring down the price, he would have maintained his price just like Dangote maintained his petrol price and every other person had to follow or lose customers. There are no emotions or sentiments in business.

the frustrating reality is that these taxes are ultimately borne by Nigerian consumers mostly the poor that buys in bit, who face a double burden first through embedded taxes inflating domestic prices, as Dangote himself admits, and again through personal income tax (starting 2026) , creating a punishing cycle of taxation that severely erodes purchasing power.

You go still pay personal income tax(2026) again. 30%

That to to say the government is taking 37.5% +30% = 67.5% [/b]from every [b]100% you have. Leaving you with. 32.5%

Turkey and India pay higher taxes than Nigeria. There is no country that does not pay VAT and CIT and Nigeria"s own is low.
Dangote is selling at market rate in other places because he has competitors there who sell at market rate. That is the only reason. Nigeria is closed to outside competition in the cement sector. Why should any company lower the price if government is not allowing competition from outside? They are all there to make money. However Mangal cement is now selling at 9800. I believe to gain customer but Mangal capacity is negligible

When we say it that Cost of production in Nigerian is tailored to make someone public enemy People dont understand, is Bua given the same quality as Dangote cement or paying as much Tax as Dangote ... why should Dangote follow Bua price

That's the challenge, for instance, if a producer expects a profit after tax of 40m over a period of 1 year, he makes that profit and gets taxed beyond what he used to pay as tax, he definitely will raise selling price to increase profit the following year so that even after being taxed, he will still have around his 40m as profit after tax.

Then one thing to know is that if the major shareholder of a company is owing banks ten billion dollars at say fourteen percent pa then he will always sell at a high price to pay interest on loans. If you force him to sell at a lower price then he will have to relinquish hold on the company to new investors who are ok with five percent

..it's true..local goods is due to high tax and high costs of production .
.lack of constant power electricity light supply, devaluation of the naira, high costs of fuel, diesel , lack of materials in Nigeria to produce the goods, materials , machines have to be imported..all this lead to high costs of production and increase price of local goods.and products

... that means when the new tax reforms start more increase in the price of cement....multiply taxation

His explanation makes absolutely no sense because all these costs are paid in the export markets too.

This is confirmation that he is exploiting Nigerians because you will pay these costs in his export market too.

Vat in Ghana is 20%, 5% in Nigeria
Company tax is 20% in Ghana, 30% in Nigeria
What else? Go through his list of excuses and it makes no sense.

BUA actually reduced his price of cement but the distributors did not pass on the cost reduction so he raised it back to the original to match Dangote . Meaning the price of cement in Nigeria is well above what it should be.l and not valve cause of any taxes.

I have had personal friends who actually professed opening a business in other African countries is not only cheaper but less expensive.

Despite oil and gas export, the Nigerian political class has been nothing but inefficient and corrupt and kleptomanic.

We're over 230 million and everything from taxes, to internet and other utilities are supposed to be cheaper compared to countries with very tiny population.

He's not paying such excessive taxes in other countries. He's paying about 50% as tax in Nigeria. Let me give you an hint on how Nigeria system is killing business, go and import goods from China and ship it through sea then you will realize the cost of clearing a container in Nigeria is much more higher than total cost of freight + customs charges in China. Imagine a situation whereby cost of clearing at the port in Nigeria is higher than cost of freight & clearing at china port. We have been cheated so much in this country

. U will understand better when u start a business.. More than 50 percent collapse within one year of start up, 80 to 95 percent collapse within the first five years in Nigeria. Too many issues u face as a biz owner...tax is just one out many..

I supported him in the Ahmed Farouk saga. But this excuse is just lame and his cement price makes him an unpatriotic and selfish individual. But giving back crumps from the bakeries he's milking off Nigerians. If there was importation,cement would be much cheaper. He's making life difficult for Nigerians with this high price of cement
