The way SA commentator dey hype this their keeper eeh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
SA is one flash in the pan team that will always flatter to deceive when it matters, they were just lucky to have met an unstable Nigerian team in bad administrative and coaching form. There's a reason their team hasn't won anything since '96? they are just not among the traditional elites of African football and this world cup will surely expose how self-service South Africa is

At this point, I think it's best for the two camps on this AFCON hosting debate to agree to disagree agreeably.
Reading the argument as a neutral, I don't find anything disagreeable from either side. It was just a normal debate and I enjoyed the differing perspectives.

Nigeria of old also reached the Afcon final last year.

Nigeria of old also won the Wafcon this year.

Nigeria of old also won 2 of the last 3 APOTYs.

You make it sound like everything we have achieved so far were done in 1800.

In the end, you can see with evidence that Morocco is still worlds away from catching up to Cameroun/Egypt not to mention Nigeria.

Egypt dominated Africa consistently between 2006 and 2010, winning 3 Afcons back to back to back. Their clubs were also winning the CAF CLs in that time period, winning twice in 2006 and 2008. As grand as their football legacy is, they still fall below Nigeria and Cameroun on the overall.

Morocco is not even in Egypt's class yet. Egypt is still North Africa's biggest football nation.

I am Team Morocco as always. Always have been for years now but I am also a student of history and facts. Not just recency bias.
No lie in your post. But you should as well be worried about the fact that all that achievement you just layed out might easily become a situation of past glory because of the condition we've found our football today.

Least I forget...

Gentlemen, gents, initially, I had decided not to host the annual Nairaland Nigeria Football Fans Award due to my busy schedule. But as it stands, I have a lot of free time on my hands until the new year, so I've had a change of heart
However, as always, the success of the award always depends on members of this thread, and I don't want to proceed without due approval.
I know many of us are still hurting from the world cup miss, but nevertheless, there's a few positives to take away from the football year, such as the super falcons winning the WAFCON and the revelation of some talents like Benjamin Fredrick..

On this note, I'd like members of the thread to vote on whether or not the awards should take place this year..

If you are in support of the award taking place this year, click "like". If you are not in support of the award taking place this year, click "share"
Voting ends at 11pm tomorrow.

Thank you

Game on 1-1
There's no scoreline I hate more than 1-0. Once you score the other team, the momentum will swing and they will begin to come at you like a swarm of bees until they score you and even after scoring, some will ride that momentum till they win you.

Immediately after SA scored, Angola said Gbewa. They were relentless. SA couldn't breathe until Angola scored.

The same thing happened to us against Congo.

I hate 1-0. It puts me on edge.

😂 but you can’t score more than 1 at a time nah. You’ve have to fight till the end. Hope to see the eagles fight in this competition if not make dem go back to the clubs on time. I don’t have time to watch nonsense o

Bro, this is such a categorically false statement.

The situation in Northern Nigeria far worse than anything you will see in the US.

There is no part of the US that is ungovernable due to foreign terrorists.

Like bro, do you hear yourself.

I don’t understand, s.a is not better than Angola in terms of team.

I no even know why Nigeria dey rate dem, and our overrating them has trickled into the field , our players don Dey too rate them.

Let me add my own.

Can Nigeria host the AFCON? Omo, these days, I don’t know.

Technically, yes, but will it be up to standard of the 2019 AFCON or even the 2023 AFCON?

Our infrastructure is not up to standard.
