Nigeria should forget about the WC and clean their house
our football development has nose-dived and all we concern ourselves about are inelligible players in other teams huh
even this nations cup will end in shambles for the SE for sure

They really tried tho. Their group is very tough so they wanted to get something from the DRC match at least.
They had opportunities to attack the game but they were too flat-footed. I didn’t enjoy their game

Even against Cameroon, the Congolese did not play anything.
Our boys were fatigue, and I also think something happened in that dressing room at half-time!

Maybe, they already know the Congolese fielded ineligible players or there was a dispute about that Lookman pass to Chukwueze that Ndidi disrupted.

Also the coach should have put more bodies in the midfield since Iwobi and Ndidi just played almost 120 minutes two days before that game instead of playing two strikers in the 2nd half.

Good game from Benin and Rohr especially in the second half. If not for wastefulness abi na bad luck from Tosin and co, they should have gotten something from this game.

Congo looked VERY ordinary. Nothing like the prime Barca dominance they delivered against us. Shows Chelle has serious tactical issues but we'll see what he does in this tourney.

Everybody is a genius in hindsight. Congo also played a game before meeting us (against a traditionally more physical Cameroun) so they were equally fatigued. They just had better quality plus tactical awareness and strategy than us.

They have better quality? So why did they look ordinary now playing Benin that we defeated 4 nil?

This echoes my sentiment too.

We had no business losing that Congo match if Chelle had been more tactically astute.

We had the game in out hand right from the 1st minute and then came the error that led to congo's goal and suddenly the players panicked and from then it was Congo all the way.

I loved Chelle but he did fall hand in that game. Obviously failed to prepare for penalties and was just improvising his tactics on the go.

What coach brings on a player as a substitute and later substitutes the same player?

Football is not math. We defeated Benin 4-nil but have also lost 2-1 to them recently.

Benin has always been a tough nut. By their recent record it is not surprising how they played, also since they were losing too.

If we played Benin again in this tournament I won’t be suprised if the game is tough.
