The middle is still our weakness link we just have to manage with what we have
💯

I agree. I think it will come with time. With your point in mind, we can understand the need for direct play. However, Chelle needs to build on the midfield with time.

Sunday Olisey said the tanzanians have been playing very well, and i wondered whether he would have said that if he was a tanzanian?
He also said they were dictating the way the game was going with their disciplined setup. When they conceeded he said their defensive game plan cost them. See commentator

We have completely dominated the game from kick off....but we need to do better....
Tanzania look dangerous anytime we give them the chance to launch an attack....
we dominated the game from the start to about 20mins , after 20 mins , the game was balanced , Tanzania gained confidence and they started playing their game .

With this midfield if we met teams like Senegal or Dr Congo or Ivorycoat who are good in the midfield, we might pay

Bench Iwobi 😂
Akinsanmiro better pass Iwobi 😂
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru better pass Iwobi 😂
This type of comment is as old as this thread. New, relatively untested, players are always the best grin

While some have, over time, grown out of such views some are still embedded in it.

I pointed this once earlier that my biggest concern about Oliseh is how he tends to praise negative football. For a man with a so called offensive philosophy, he likes negative play.

I think Iwobi is good at passing but poor at ball recovery. His weakness isn't showing in this game because the opponent is weak.

Best thing is to play Iwobi as a 10 and put two hustlers (Ndidi and Onyeka) behind him to do all the ball-winning while he concentrates on creating chances.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by orriyomi33(m): 7:33pm On Dec 23, 2025
Thanks for this TheGoodjoe.

The midfield transition is where Morocco edges. We play too 'much' of back passes
TheGoodJoe:
Thank you for the shout out. Using style to watch. 😃

We are doing okay. Especially with the way our defense keep possession. However, I feel our play is direct when moving from the defense to attack. Not much work is going on in the middle.

If Chelle can get the midfield to transition the possessive play of the defense to the Middle and keep it longer, we can cause problems.

I think Oliseh has been surprisingly analytical and polished with his analysis. Majority of these ex naija players analyze games like proper beer parlor folks.

Osimhen and the offside curse
He needs to start anticipating the ball will be played into space instead of running into it.

When I say Osimhen needs to improve timing his runs people call me a hater...this is a recurring theme.

This is why you need to convert your chances. Osimhen holds his run and it's 2-0...
