Onuachu was brought in to manage the game, considering we didn't put crosses to him grin

its too early to throw stines and critize the team .. bt the truth is this defence cant win the afcon.. if we would stand a chance of winning this tournament chelle has to do sometin either by bringing in extra defensive cover or an additional holding midfielder to cover grounds, else the likes of senegal and other big teams will hv us on toast
He needs to first remove Ndidi from the starting lineup. Ndidi is finsihed as a footballer.

Our defense is so bad! Osayi and Sanusi were so poor!
Not one good cross from this two.
Ajayi is too slow! Ndidi poor too.
Awaziem will play that right back better than Osayi.

Our attack needs to take their chances. Too many missed chances today.

Overall, a good start!

Senegal is the only team that looks formidable thus far!

Our middle is the problem we need someone in there to read the game better

Compared to the snooze 😴 fest that was last afcon this one sweet die
After we switched tactics at the last Afcon, our matches were high octane.

It is the department to rightly be wary of.

Frederick OUT
Aina OUT
And Ekong, from a leader's POV retired.

That is 3 legs in our defence missing. 2 are sure starters. That is half of our defence not available so the defensive look at the back was always gonna be shaky.
this is the first Afcon super eagles will b playing at without a leader factor

-The Mikels
-The Ekongs

but whats this thing with Osimhen goals always being ruled out at afcon na🤦🏽‍♀️….this game was easily a 3-1, 4-1 naaaaa
I agree with you
Osimhen wasn't himself today
Let's hope he comes to the party next game

what the point of leaving osimehn after disastrous 80 mins?
We all know Osimhen
He can miss many and score a beauty in the 90th minute

A sterner test awaits us in Tunisia. We have to improve by all means before then maybe adding another holding midfielder in place of an attacker
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:31pm On Dec 23, 2025
Chelle should kindly consider a 3 man backline. In the absence of the core of Aina and Frederick, our backline should not proceed as 4.

Tanzania is among the lesser teams yet they exploited a few gaps in our 4-2-4/sometimes 3-2-5 attacking shape and even scored. If we stayed a bit compact at 4222, we wont have to overcommit forward and leave gaps behind.

A team like Tanzania found those gaps. Imagine what a Senegal or Ivory Coast would have done.

This happens all the time
The team loses it's focal point once Osimhen leaves
He makes the whole forward line play better

I no come understand, you guys wanted to beat Tanzania 10-nil

If not miss chances and zaidu been totally off in this game, this was a good first match, match could have easily ended 5-0, criticize this players but let’s do constructively, there so much positives than negatives in this game

i see people complaining we played badly and all that...
makes me wonder the kind of fans we are.

one even said we wont go far.

yes we didnt play the best of games but there are some positive

we created chances
there was urgency at some point
and we got the 3 points ... not like we lost.

we should build on this opening 3 points and grow in the tournament.

fans we too like complain.
loss .... we complain
draw .... we complain
even as we win ...we still complain

or una think say tanzania sef no come with their own game plan?

The fact that Osayi played ahead of Awaziem and Ryan means he's likely better than them.

I can't wait for the day Osayi will stop playing for Nigeria. That guy fills me with dread.

The main reason why Chelle was employed was because of his AFCON exploits with Mali. Let's not forget that waw the only good thing in his CV

is as clueless as balablue.

Ajé, their second name today na disappointment. Maybe I watched d match from d end to d beginning.

Yeah the eagles gave them confidence with our carelessness in defence I hope this is sorted out but Chelle has shown he’s more of an attacking coach and that’s where the worry is
