How many goals did Osimhen score in the last Afcon?
He brings more than goal scoring to the team
what the primary duty of a striker?

Oliseh should also not come for our next game's commentary, what's "this asymmetrical way of attacking the Tanzanias" na from where he go get coaching license he learn that one?

Goke7, I told you Lookman will cook. He is at it again at another Afcon.

He will cook.

Do we have analysis on this thread or just emotional complainer.

How can a team that absolutely dominated 70% of the game be poor?

Or you guys feel Tanzania is Comoros? Even Comoros held it with morrocco, Botswana held Senegal.

A team with with 23 goals, very clear cut chances was pooor?

Even some of our best teams did not thrash Tanzania, Nigeria outplayed this team, yes defense need to improve, but cut this boys slack.

Can we start doing analysis than complaining and whining.

Yes, just like the last AFCON
Still we need our striker to score. Especially those easy chances he's expected to bury.

i see people complaining we played badly and all that...
makes me wonder the kind of fans we are.

one even said we wont go far.

yes we didnt play the best of games but there are some positive

we created chances
there was urgency at some point
and we got the 3 points ... not like we lost.

we should build on this opening 3 points and grow in the tournament.

fans we too like complain.
loss .... we complain
draw .... we complain
even as we win ...we still complain

or una think say tanzania sef no come with their own game plan?
try to filter and mention those complaining senselessly from those complaining objectively…my own take is that we should have put the game beyond reach…thank God we won and we have the 3points….but looking at how the game went, our attack did not nail those guys to their coffin….
you see what senegal did? result like theirs send fear to the next opponents

Our middle is the problem we need someone in there to read the game better
from what i saw today, Ndidi is actually the problem. probably he lost legs. what was missing was someone who could recover ball and recycle possesion, but once opponent collect ball like this, Fiam.....expressway.

i see Uganda stunning Tunisia, and then Tunisia going on to statpad Tanzania…..North Africans sabi wipe this small baby East African countries wella
Let's just improve, if we take this second half performance to even Uganda we might have to work hard for a draw, let's just pray osimhen comes alive in his next game also

base on current form in turkish league it was justifiable to take off osimhen in 80 mins after misfiring and trying a diff striker so dont blame chelle the team played well

Actually this formation suit us against team like this. However, I believe Chelle will change it when we play a formidable opponent.

The other guy say na Akinsanmiro suppose start, not iwobi
The fact still remains Akinsanmiro does it better.
That is the fact.

The most distinguishing positive from Iwobi is his dropping deeper, opening himself up to receive passes from the defence and helping to move the ball from the defence into the more advanced areas of the midfield. The times he dropped deeper to receive passes from the defenders, the Tanzanian forwards retreated deeper into their own half.

Not champagne football but a win regardless.

Lookman and Osimhen still lacking that telephatic understanding to play off each other.

Midfield still needs PLENTY work ahead of a sterner test against Tunisia.

Nwabali is still looking out of sorts.

Ajayi took his goal well but I still fancy him in a 3-man defensive setup than a 2 man partnership.

We take the win and move on to the next game.

That was a beauty of a goal I was proud as a Nigerian. Just the way the Egyptians main players stepped up last night Lookman showed winning APOTY was no fluke that was class

Iwobi should have scored another beautiful goal. Three points in the bag is a good start. Hoping to see more cooking in the next game

in which game?

With almost 20 shots on target?

Which game did super eagles struggle all through? shocked

lol Omoh
we played very badly and struggled to win Tanzania , i was expecting a 4:0 or 4:1 giving room for Nwabali's error .if we play like this against Tunisia , trust me , they will trash us .

I think Oliseh has been surprisingly analytical and polished with his analysis. Majority of these ex naija players analyze games like proper beer parlor folks.
Oliseh gave some few good analysis but felt as if he was looking for something to use to criticize Chelle. Like the sub bringing in Simon Moses and Dele Bashiru was sound but Oliseh critiqued it. But that was fine changes and match reading.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:42pm On Dec 23, 2025
Seeing Osimhen's goal chalked off for offside gave me really really bad de ja vu vibes. Feelings I dont wanna have.

Osimhen was denied 3 goals at the last Afcon no thanks to offside calls which VAR caught. Abeg.... Victor, calm down please. Be calm. Let it come to you.

This was also like Gabon all over again but for only 90mins excluding the extra time star turn.

On Osimhen, it is not a question of tactics. It is a question of mental state. His psychology. His game state.
I hope he enters his zone soon and fast. 1st game don go now. We need him in his monstrous psychological elements.

Truth be told, we played well. It showed today that we've spent enough time fine-tuning tactical drills and building chemistry between players. Also, this team is almost guaranteed to qualify for the next round now that we've secured three points. At worst we get just one point from the next two games and finish third. The biggest problem now is our defense, and if Chelle doesn't find a way to balance or sort it out before the knockout stages, we'll likely fall to first major B or A-tier side we meet there.

He is not a natural right back, and it shows. You can't have just two midfielders and defenders that cannot mark!
Mujtahida:
The fact that Osayi played ahead of Awaziem and Ryan means he's likely better than them.

I can't wait for the day Osayi will stop playing for Nigeria. That guy fills me with dread.

With this midfield if we met teams like Senegal or Dr Congo or Ivorycoat who are good in the midfield, we might pay
We can use aggressive man to man press to distabilize a stronger midfield set up.

Osayo should pray this alebiosu boy no cement that place because he should count his days in super eagles. And for osihmen , I don't have words.
