we played very badly and struggled to win Tanzania , i was expecting a 4:0 or 4:1 giving room for Nwabali's error .if we play like this against Tunisia , trust me , they will trash us .
oga Tunisia is on Saturday, I agree let them come thrash Nigeria. grin

A team had almost 60% possession, 25 shorts, 16 on target, about 5 clear cut chances…

And they played very badly?

Ok sir

At times I wonder aw some people analyse football as if Dey don’t want the opponent leg to touch ball at all..Nigeria played well today ,d culprit missing chances dt could av been 3-1 or 4-1 was osimhen.but we no wan tackle am 😏

Oliseh gave some few good analysis but felt as if he was looking for something to use to criticize Chelle. Like the sub bringing in Simon Moses and Dele Bashiru was sound but Oliseh critiqued it. But that was fine changes and match reading.
What do you expect? hardly will any Nigerian coach or ex player support Chelle. He needs to fail for them to be validated. Chelle appointment was a dagger in the heart for Nigerian coaches

Haba naa. Read my post naa. I don comment on am specially. He didnt come to the party at all. Yes, his presence remains a mental lift for the guys and still strikes fear in defences but he was just out of his depth today.

They did well sincerely. My issue is with zaidiu. How can a player playing topflight football be this abysmal. Gosh, that guy is not it.
Osayo should pray this alebiosu boy no cement that place because he should count his days in super eagles. And for osihmen , I don't have words.
I am so happy lookman is back
Sanusi isn't usually like this
I am really surprised about his game play today

At least let's see how the Tunisia will perform today against Uganda before tagging them favorites against us. For me so far this is how I'll rank the teams that played today.

Senegal
Nigeria
DR Congo
Benin
Tanzania
Botswana

Considering the quality of the opposition DRC should rank ahead of Nigeria.

Actually this formation suit us against team like this. However, I believe Chelle will change it when we play a formidable opponent.
But Chelle needs a regular starting 11, taking Adams off early in the second half except he was injured impacted the game somehow

Truth be told, we played well. It showed today that we've spent enough time fine-tuning tactical drills and building chemistry between players. Also, this team is almost guaranteed to qualify for the next round now that we've secured three points. At worst we get just one point from the next two games and finish third. The biggest problem now is our defense, and if Chelle doesn't find a way to balance or sort it out before the knockout stages, we'll likely fall to first major B or A-tier side we meet there.

I think our defense set up was good in a tactical sense. The only challenge we had is when squeezing for the ball. We left gaps that were exploited with switching of play.

We can sort this out by when we squeeze for the ball, one of the forwards track back to cover the space left wide.

Ah that Alex chance was lovely real pity he didn't score.

Ndidi needs help in the middle of the park. He just hasn't got the legs anymore.

Don't know why Chukwueze was moaning when he came off wasn't like he lit up the game with some special performance.

Goke7:
That was a beauty of a goal I was proud as a Nigerian. Just the way the Egyptians main players stepped up last night Lookman showed winning APOTY was no fluke that was class

Iwobi should have scored another beautiful goal. Three points in the bag is a good start. Hoping to see more cooking in the next game

fear catch me cus I been think say him wan bring in Onuachu to pair Osimhen upfront instead of having additional body in defence or midfield to protect the lead 🤣

He's always like this. He always acts clueless at some instances in every game. Last game he displayed it too

A MOTM performance from Iwobi.

He linked the defence and attack with ease,
hope he replicates this performance against Tunisia.

He got redcarded against them in AFCON21.

Actually, I liked that sub. The Tanzanians were dominating in the middle and he needed more numbers in the middle. With Dele Bashiru instructed to invert when we were off possession and spread out when in position. The timing was also good because we were in lead and needed control of the middle to reduce the aggressive attack of the Tanzanians.

After we switched tactics at the last Afcon, our matches were high octane.
No it wasn’t it was score 1 goal and bury the bus in front of the goal post

We played haram ball last afcon

It works but there’s no room for growth but it’ll always work

Until fatigue kicks in like it did in the final

TTazania put more bodies in the midfield and Chelle tried to counter that with Dele, and to move Lookman close to goal.
