I’m currently in the South East, and normally by late November we would have started feeling harmattan — cooler weather, dry air, dusty breeze, at least some signs.

But now, just a day to Christmas, everywhere is still hot. No harmattan breeze, no dryness, no dusty mornings. It honestly feels more like February or March than December.

This feels very unusual to me. In all my years on earth, I can’t remember a December like this.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing in their area?
Could this be climate change, or is this just one of those rare weather shifts?

Let’s hear your observations.
Yes, and it will continue to be so as long as cloud seeding is being practiced in China and the UAE

It's climate change effects. Even here in China it's not yet that cold unlike usual.

Harmattan comes from the Sahara desert, and the desert has been turning green due to increased rainfall. Expect shorter harmattans and longer rainy seasons. Change is constant, and the earth has been changing for millions of years. Record temperatures are also being experienced every year.

Would have been a perfect time to hear from metrological service agency in Nigeria, if any, with empirical reasons for this noticeable shift in weather/season.
I don't think the staff in that agency know what they are doing

Which yeye climate change. The brainwashing of the black man continues. The same climate change they said Sun will be burning skin by 10 years ago abi the one they claim Antarctica will be gone 15 years ago?

Something Trump has called the biggest scam
. That weather changes once a while is not new but forget that fear mongering climate change abeg.

Its the same everywhere. This may be the first Christmas in all my years in Lagos without that Harmattan haze, which makes Chrstmas feel Christmassy!!

But the raisn started late in 2025 and ended late as well. Rain was still falling well into December. The hot weather which started like 2 weeks ago, normally starts in early November, so that means the Harmattan will likley come sometime in January.

There was some Hurricane activity in Gulf of Mexico like 2 months ago, that might have shifted weather patterns.

It will come after Christmas before new year and last some days in January

Relax

Though climate change is gradually eroding the harmattan, a fact

The same thing we are experiencing in Lagos. For my 10 years stay in Lagos I have never experience December as this

As I read this post now, it's raining heavily here in Aba, Abia State. This is the second rain in this week. This is absolutely unusual.
All my life, I've never witnessed rainfall with flooded streets on 24th of December!

As I'm typing, I'm sweating profusely .

Reasons :
First, no family or loved one
Second, poverty .

Lastly, Nature. I have never seen a December where there will be such heat. In yesteryears, cold from harmattan would have been dealing with us by now. It's really strange, bizzare and unusual.

Could it be as a result of human activities from deforestation/indiscriminate felling down of trees ?
Or Jesus is coming?
Good assumption but i don't think so, the area i am currently in Edo state, there's high forestation, i thought by now one would find it hard to bath in the mornings but it's not even close to being the case, no dew, a few foggy formation in the morning but no cool dry breeze at all... The gods are angry people.

Climate change has happened and is real. The year in my country of residence is black Christmas 🎄. It is usually white Christmas 🎄 but we bearly had any snow on the ground.
