In our last two meetings, we were the better side, beating them 3-2 in AFCON19' and 2-0 in AFCON23'.

oga Tunisia is on Saturday, I agree let them come thrash Nigeria. grin

A team had almost 60% possession, 25 shorts, 16 on target, about 5 clear cut chances…

And they played very badly?

Ok sir
sometimes when we criticize it is not just about that match but other future matches. the manner we conceded was really poor, tanzania only goal came from their only meaningful chance. osimhen was too wasteful, wingers not connecting well with fullbacks, the defence was too shaky.

Imagine we drew the match, would you still bring out the stats to show how well we played? basically this was how we drew our wc qualification matches that later cost us. we score one, miss a lot of chances that would have ensured we bury the game , the opponents score in the last minutes of the game and it leads to a draw. This was how DR congo eliminated us.

2-1 win against tanzania is not a good performance, it is an okay performace at best and i'm worried we may get punished by a tougher team if we don't improve.

A lot of work still needs to be done and a narrow win still calls for criticism.

Someone compiled Osimhen videos yesterday.. What a stinker.. I was like what will big clubs even think if they watch a video like this.. I felt bad for him
The only stinker here is this your post.

Why didn't he compile his performance against Benin and Gabon, before that match against Tanzania, he had 5 goals in his last 2½ games for Nigeria, why didn't they compile that?

Osimhen wasted chances he normally would've scored that day against Tanzania and I was mad and even shouted, he needs to calm down and be clinical in this tournament, but with what I've seen him do in this Nigeria squad with my two eyes, I will NEVER slander him for any bad day he has. His good days have overshadowed and will overshadow any bad day there is or will be for him.

Make una follow them dey watch stupid compilations. In that same match he had good moments too, created two chances, one big chance, had an acrobatic attempt on target, scored a beautiful goal that was disallowed, won duels and celebrated heartily with the goal scorers but una wan dey watch compilations wey clowns dey do. Good luck.

We should take it easy on osihmen he could be back to score a hatrick in the next game and whoever compiled any videos will just be put to shame. We didn’t even lose the game so what’s all the noise about the striker for. Stinker in a game we won? Plsssss people should get a job if they don’t have one.

We should compile one about Lookman too cos before yesterday game he wasn’t giving much to the team for a long while. abegi
If Lookman scores in the next match and Osimhen doesn't, then qualification series belongs to Osimhen, tournament, Lookman.

Why do people always say Simon is a one trick pony, when Chukwueze can't shoot with his right foot, Osimhen, lose easy chances and score the hard ones & is mostly offside, Zaidu can't cross, Osayi too is mostly poor defending, but do you know that Alex Iwobi in midfield in the Tanzania game, never dribbled past any player, never drove forward with the ball, never tackled, never intercepted any passes, but gave a Motm performance by making passes with the smallest of spaces. what will happen when he is quickly closed down by the opposition?
Will he attempt to dribble , or drive forward with the ball, tackle, and intercept passes?

My problem in midfield and our defense is, what do we do when we are chased and pressed by a hungry team, Iwobi can pass the ball but can’t really dribble, semi and Bassey can beat press, same with Ndidi, this will be out issue going forward. Which midfielder can hold and beat a press? Which defender can can hold and beat a press, I miss Benjamin, once he is back the defense matter is issue sorted, but who go solve our midfield issues, we just a Mikel type of player for this team to tick in midfield….

In quantum physics 2 different things can be true at the same time.
Reality is multi faceted and not singular or binary like people think. Philosophers and scientists even say there are multiple Universes.
Kelechi Nwakali is not good in Europe in fact he is a nonsens player but when it comes to playing international football in Nigerias
midfield...well HE IS WHAT WE NEED.
People on this site have to understand that not everything is black or white.
In Yoruba mythology Esu has a cap that is black on the left side and white on the right side. He was walking bye one day and some people on his left side said the cap was black while the people on the right side said the cap was white. Esu now told all of them that his cap is black on one side and white on another side. He then said people should not be narrow minded.
See quantum physics philosophy and Yoruba mythology proves my point.
Saying a player is good or bad is just a question of perception. There are multiple realities and perceptions

We need our coach to be a bit more intelligent with substitutions. Make them but let the structure be there.
If you are going to bring in dele bashiru put him in the middle and play lookman and Simon wide.
If you have to use onuachu , do so with a supporting striker like dessers while keeping the structure in tact so as to avoid the confusion we had against congo in the world cup qualifiers.
The coach is just gambling with our team while making Nigerians think the strikers are all useless other than osihmen. How I wish my message can get to him.

My own be say Chelle should stop subbing Osimhen out whether we are winning or losing unless he is injured, our opponents tends to add more pressure on us whenever he is been taken off, this is just six matches if we go all the way, he can manage

Lol. Some analyses wey person dey read here eh.

So if we're leading 3-0, Osimhen should stay till 90 + 5 and probably get injured or get so fatigued that he is unable to give his 100% in his next game?

Just finish watching that video post by 9Jamar, I was very glad Vinny end this career with an AFCON Trophy,

And more importantly these present team can do a lot with VICMO

His mesmerizing dribbling runs, his eyes for assists, his on point crosses, and his simulating diving like a fish, would had serve these present team very much and makes them fearsome with VO9

Otilo.

FIFA's adjudication body has dismissed Nigeria's appeal regarding the eligibility of a DR Congo player in their recent 2026 World Cup qualifier. The decision leaves the original match outcome intact, effectively eliminating Nigeria's hopes of World Cup qualification through a technical protest.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by ThunderFireAgba: 3:26am On Dec 26, 2025
Case Details:

Nigeria's Claim: The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) argued that the player in question did not meet specific eligibility criteria, primarily focusing on DR Congo's domestic law which does not recognize dual citizenship. Nigeria alleged that FIFA was deceived during the clearance process, as some players held European passports in addition to their Congolese ones.FIFA's Ruling: After a thorough review of the evidence and player registration records, FIFA concluded that DR Congo had complied with all of its regulatory requirements. FIFA evaluates player eligibility based on its own sporting nationality rules, not a country's domestic constitutional law, and the players in question had been cleared by FIFA prior to the match.Outcome: Nigeria will not be awarded points or a replay of the match, and the result, which saw DR Congo win on penalties after a 1-1 draw in full time, stands.

This ruling is considered final, and NO further appeals are expected.
