Last week we decided not to worship at our Nigerian Community Church but a Anglican church where you have the whiteman as priests and 99% are white worshippers.

I guess they do more of giving than asking for tithes.

It was a gift, from the abundance of another man’s heart.

Why bring it here to announce to the world, what was supposed to stay between you and the he church ?!

Was it not enough or something ?!

you reserve no right to tell him off the thread, it a public and open forum for all, if you don't want opposite opinion you are the one that should have stayed off.

my question is, what is the population of that church.

with you asking people to stay off it's obvious you are targeting the Nigerian churches.

fastseo:
This is the very firdt time am going to church in my life and i received such gifts.

Our Nigerian Christian community don't practicalise love
By January they will call for first fruit... That's all ur salaries.
Remember this December they called for thanksgiving where members will bring or empty their purse.
Then we talk about tithe and offering
And unending seed sowing.

So i was excited to share to show love still exists in Christian communities.
you are contradicting yourself with the bolded there. first time of attending a church "in your life", yet you are dissecting a church inside out?

beside you don't know the church like you claim. you only judge the church based on hearsay, the general judgemental opinion of those that are positioned to bring down the church. I'm not saying all churches are good but backlash against Christianity for no reason is out of it.

I'm not against what ever the charity out there, good thing to do and I love it. as a people (Nigerians) are too entitled, even when can afford it, we still want it for free even at the expense of those that really needs it.

PlasmaTV:
Una no dey ever rest with this TITHE matter. The people paying it aren't complaining to you, are they?
they won't rather they will whimp, they don't pay tithe, those paying aren't complaining, even the one individual that can't explain what church is would scream the loudest.

erico2k2:
YOu belong to that group that man call church MUGU ,
Churches in the west are registered under the charity ACT, so even those who do not go to church believe in charity so they are welcome to donate and colect items. Now you brother church wey dem say Him be Embassy, HE did same registered his church under same charity but them nor see thier charity only Millions flowing out of the UK, chey the UK taxman hold Him brokos since!!!!
you wey nobi MUGU, as soon as you carry headache cause of some MU-MU, your MUGU na him worse pass. you said west fine the law in Nigeria does not register church as charity but religious organizations only that dey enjoy tax exemption like the NGOs. not until recently the west in particular UK don't scrutinise church account.

the case Matthew Ashimolowo wasn't of embezzlement (verify your claim,) his church was investigated and found clean but his success was his problem with UK government. they wanted to kill his investment as such he relocated everything back to Nigeria, mind his source of wealth was back home.

Bayajjidda:
Nigerian "pastor" don drop quote
I no drop quote o, na fact o. mind you I nobi pastor, I just believe in the existence of God and a must to serve Him, irrespective of people actions and inactions. the truth is people don't know the church like they claim. if you want us to talk more on this, we might get engaged.

Honestly, it feels like most people dragging Nigerian churches haven't actually experienced the good ones. I have to give credit where it's due—back when I was a regular at RCCG, they were consistent with sharing hamper with food items, and Christ Embassy does the same. Many churches even distributed bags of rice and other food items this Christmas. Just because your local branch didn’t show up for you doesn't mean others aren't doing the work.

Most everyone say what you want to hear? Why is it that people just like praise singers alone and don't accept divergent opinions?

I have never seen white people shake and behave like snake under anointing.

I decided to post this today cos i am free

They even asked us to come this Christmas day... 25th for gifts but i couldn't.. Because of work

Almost all churches would give you gifts as a first timer from my experience. I may be wrong though

Religious centers are recognized as charity by law. All funds expenditure are accounted and submitted to government.

Now y'all understand why many Nigerian pastors have cases and ran from UK grin

Stop being ignorant.

You are just talking off point. How many Nigerian churches have you attended?

My local church gives 60 packs of foodstuff every Sunday. Yes. 60. 60 pints of rice, beans, dodo etc.

We've been doing this since 2020 - COVID year!

OP is only telling the world, most especially Nigerian pastors/christians how Christianity should be.

That's practical Christianity, not the nonsense we see everyday in Nigerian churches.

I love white church too, but I dont like being controlled like remote, so if i sense remote i will run. Anyway when I attended church with white, they always cook. And help each other out, the pastors himself seem disciplined and hard working, he not only preach but also sings, but I knew i won't last there because they wanted me to become a pastor. I am not disciplined like that.

I think I prefer these western churches.

They understand the assignment more than we Africans.

That is the real intention of God for the Church,to not just care for the members but to even till(Abed >worship, give care, vinedresser, care taker) the earth He created at large.

The Church missed the mark the moment they took prosperity message as a major factor of the Gospel.

Bad teaching is why We are here today,if this Men of God gather the Wealth of their various congregations in one pulse as We see in the time of the Apostles where the Church liberarities were gathered and shared according to the needs of the Believers We shouldn't be having so much poor Christians.

If the Church had concentrated on teaching the riches from within and managing talents and gifts there would have been no need to turn the Gospel into a transactional messenge.
