Tinubu Exposing Nigeria's Economy To Volatility - MUSWEN President Warns by Nairalandankra(op): 9:55pm On Dec 25, 2025
warns that without deliberate reforms and morally grounded leadership, sustainable development will remain elusive in Nigeria.

_ "Tinubu’s heavy reliance on oil and gas, which accounts for up to 90 per cent of foreign exchange earnings and about half of government revenue, has exposed the economy to volatility.

The President of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, has said that Nigerians’ ability to withstand economic and social shocks has been severely weakened by the Federal Government poor governance, overdependence on oil revenue and very weak institutions.

Alhaji Oladejo stated this on Thursday, during the Formal Opening of the Guild of Muslim Professionals (GMP) Convention at AM2PM Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

Represented by the Deputy President II, MUSWEN, Alhaji Thabit Wale Sonaike, Alhaji Oladejo, said the country ranks among the least resilient nations in Africa.
He added that infrastructure deficits, insecurity, high poverty levels and rising debt have further eroded national resilience.

According to him, Nigeria’s per capita GDP declined by an average of 0.7 per cent annually between 2014 and 2023, while inflation exceeded 40 per cent in 2024, worsening hardship for citizens. , electricity shortages, food insecurity and widespread poverty remain major challenges,” he said.

What a joke.

There has not been a time in the last 20 years that the Nigerian economy has relied less on oil than now.

Our non-oil exports has reached record high, and the contribution of oil & gas to the external reserve has been less than 90% for several months. These days the naira doesn't even react to fall in crue oil price like in the past.

Why? Because under this government non-oil exports, including cocoa, fertiliser, Dangote refinery exports etc have exploded.

Since the President has not shown them any favouritism as they thought they would get under a Muslim Muslim ticket, they are suddenly economic critics. They think they can put the President under pressure.

But the President is not for turning. Christian o, Muslim o, traditional religion adherents o, the President treats everyone equally.

I don’t understand this narrative about Nigeria being the least resilient nation. Is it not a recent report that said Nigeria is one of the fastest growing economy?

What is the game here?

We are at the end of 2025 but this dude is still quoting figures from 2024. So you mind to give us the current inflation rate?

You keep criticising the government without crediting the same government for tangible efforts making things better. No one said it’s gonna be easy, price must be paid to make Nigeria great.

Tinubu's government lacks sincerity of purpose and that's why Nigerians will end up suffering for nothing after his useless tenure in government.

This was the same thing I said during Buhari's government and people attacked me and today we all can see that it's a reality.

No government who came to rebuild the economy squanders money the way Tinubu and his family is doing and succeeds.....

Never, it's not possible.

The alternative solution is for Tinubu to stop increasing the TAX burden on people through different ways, just to get more luxury for himself and steal to buy VOTES from deliberately impoverished extreme poverty paupers while bribing politicians to join his one party movement for his 3rd term project prior to life president like Cameroon’s Biya.

The saddest part of Tinubu incompetence, corruption and cluelessness is that he has rubbished the hard won reputation of Yorubas as excellent administrators based on the achievements of Awolowo and other progressive politicians in the past.

chisomkachy:
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.

The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.

Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

…Says Buhari doesn’t have my kind of money

However, Buhari doesn’t have the kind of money I can steal neither does he have the money I can collect. He doesn’t even have the money for Lagos votes. So, whatever I promise, it’s for real and is coming from my pocket. It’s not until I go to Alausa before I get money to give you.”

Addressing APC supporters on the need to deliver votes, Tinubu said handsome cash rewards await those who can deliver votes for the party.

He said he would not make mistakes of the past where people would collect money in advance and not deliver on election day.

Tinubu added, “Those of you that say you come to Bourdillon for mobilisation, it is mobilisation that we are doing here or don’t you understand? Definitely, if you know people in your neighbourhood, our members, how we used to do.

. The man is a complete failure
He has been honest enough to admit his incompetence in governance and administration.

The yet-to-be-answered question is why he grabbed power and ran with it when he knew he had no clue how to do better for the 200 million sovereign citizens who temporarily ALLOWED him the opportunity to serve us in Aso Rock.

Maybe that’s because 20 million Lagosians have given him the illusion that public office is only to increase the TAX burden on the masses without employing well paid civil servants to improve government services and utilities accordingly.

Does that make you wonder if Lagosians are truly smart people huh

May Day: Hunger, unemployment, insecurity real— Tinubu

According to him: “The theme demands our collective attention and serves as a stark reminder of the need to create an environment where every worker feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our nation. As your President, I assure you that this administration is committed to creating such an environment for the common good.”

On the economic hardship, he noted that while it is a global phenomenon, its effects on Nigerians are particularly severe.

Tinubu said: “I am aware of the peculiarities of the economic hardship Nigerians face—rising living costs, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and the loss of livelihoods. These challenges are real and demand definitive solutions, which I am poised to address as your President.

This article was written 50 BCE. It is completely out of touch with reality.

Tinubus government has been working hard to move the country away from the over reliance on crude oil for both revenue and exports.

Non-oil tax receipt have increased and non- oil exports has been boosted by the weak Naira.

There's a new tax law whose goal is to greatly increase non-oil tax revenues.

I wonder if these people are living under a rock.

Oh so they can talk sensibly now, only when Trump has oked bombing their illicit trade pipelines of diverting the same non-oil revenue generation resources for their greedy selfish reasons instead of the state and subsequently to benefit the public, trying to make it seem like once in their life they are sensible...
