DRC Takes the lead!

They have been better this second half. 3 shots on target vs Senegal's zero in this 2nd half's first 16mins alone. Deserved lead.

Senegal defense has always been their weak point coming into this AFCON, just not as bad as Nigeria.

And DR Congo is fast becoming a problem in African football. I'd rate them above South Africa and Mali right now at least based on current form.

What did just tell you? DRC is a f..k solid team!!!
With Aina and Federick, I would have rated us above every other team to win this AFCON!

Though not a Full-time win…but the last time they celebrated a victory was against Morocco in Afcon 2019 winning them on penalties in the round of 16
Thanks for the insight, Felix.

Sometimes it’s better and a blessing if your first game is scrappy I hope Senegal didn’t underestimate these Congolese

I hope Senegal savages this situation

It's either there's something we are lacking, or there is something we are not utilising. This current crop of eagles haven't adopted a pattern of play. There is no uniqueness in our play style.

Immediately I saw how Congo started playing us, I flashed back to our final against ivory coast. There is a certain unique way they play, and Congo plays in similar fashion. These people have more control of the ball than Nigerians, regardless of whether they are foreign or local players.

Senegal have also their unique play style, in fact a lot more other African countries do. They develop some sort of football identity because of this, just as how the Brazilians have a football identity.

This thing I don't know if it is the genes, mentality or maybe something else, but it is quite evident.

I'm sure the Kenyans have one too, just the way they are unique in marathon races with their long limbs. The Kenyans in athletics is a perfect illustration for what I'm trying to point out.
I knew what I was talking about here. The Congolese are good.

with the big names they have there ... i am enjoying the way DR Congo is playing . they match Senegal pound for pound . but i still believe that Senegal can comeback or win this match

They are an Old Powerhouse. As Zaire, they were quite scary.

Some of the top stars of Belgian Football, past and present like Romelu Lukaku, Loic Openda, Emile Mpenza, Youri Tielemans are Congolese.

So DRC will always be a threat on the continent as long as they keep the bulk of the talents they have across Europe.

Clint02:
So Congo has won the Afcon 2 times.

Senegal lucky again!
Just like they were at DRC home when Wissa slipped and got injured with only the keeper to beat at 2-1! lol

Another promising talent to Hausa league 😔🤦‍♀️

🔵 The club Wolfsberger AC has lowered its asking price from 12 million € to 10 million € for Chibuike Nwaiwu, whom Fatih Tekke very much wants to be transferred.

📌 Trabzonspor management has largely reached an agreement with Chibuike Nwaiwu.

Senegal will become Congo's worst enemies if Congo bottle this game again like they did last time. 😂

Senegal wake up with their first and 2nd shot of the 2nd half happening in quick succession thanks to Mbaye and Mane. They clearly have been sleeping this half until Mane scored.

The Mpenza brothers Emile and Mbo were massive in the 90s omo Congo just dash Belgium so many players for free! 😂
