So yesterday I got a call from a very good friend of mine whom I introduced into Keke business about 3 years ago. From the way he was sounding on the phone,I knew all wasn't well with him. So out of curiosity,I asked him to know why he was sounding like that and his reply really struck deep into my heart. He had finally sold off his Keke. I mean the same Keke which had left him in countless debts and of which I warned him earlier on to kindly deal away with before things would get out of hand. I even used myself as a case study for him but it seemed everything I was telling him were all falling upon deaf ears . I could remember him asking me--"Obax,if I sell the Keke now, wetin I wan come do"? That question alone,has always been the reason why many people seems to stay in abusive marriages, relationships and works,which have led them to their early graves .

Tho I was once in a similar situation like him,but how I navigated my way out of it wasn't through mysterious ways but I had to confront business- minded people to seek advice from them. I gave him plenty reasons to let go of the Keke on time because I knew what the outcome would turn out to be. I even told him to start up a POS business right in front of his street which I know to be a very busy spot.

Mind you,not that I'm making gest of him because he's the kind of friend whom I sincerely care for. And that was why I brought him in the first place. But after all the loses I encountered,I honestly wouldn't want to see anyone close to me to be a victims of such situations. All of a sudden,this dude started avoiding my calls. So I left him to his fate ,not until yesterday when he called.

Now, here's what I'm trying to say. Sometimes, hustling smart pays more than hustling hard. I've tested the both of them and I can attest to that. Here on Nairaland, I've always shared stories about myself,not because I want public sympathy or financial help from anyone but to let every hustler on here know that there's always dignity in hardwork. I've always been of the opinion that giving up on life as a hustler shouldn't be an option and of course I can't even remember the numerous times many Nairalanders have reached out to me. Some said words of encouragement to me,and others insulted the hell out of me. Yet, giving up has never and will never be an option.

There was a time I worked in different bakeries. The last one happened to belong to my Friend's immediate younger sister and I was made the manager. But despite all the efforts we put into it,they were to no avail. In fact,we got liquidated, bankrupt and fell off from business.

All those years,peace of mind was something I couldn't get. I was only hustling just to feed myself. No clothes and was still living under my father's house.

The funniest thing and sweetest fact about life generally which I've come to realize is that no matter what, sometimes, hard work doesn't really pay the way smart work does. More so,the moment you find yourself doing one thing and it isn't yielding the results you've been expecting so far,move away from it. Try something else,and eventually that's where your breakthrough may even come from🙏

The OP nor even tell us anything at all. Well, if I May manage to get the message, wetin I go deduce from the write up be say his friend was advised to leave Keke hustle early and face another business, now wey him eyes don clear, E come dey Cry. Wetin fit be the friend issues? Maybe Unseriounsess, drinking Fenuja, carrying Olosho upandan..... Well, as for me I dey always talk about my Korope. As a Government official my Korope of 1.250k I bought in 2021 is still serving me as a side hustle, I nor give am to one idiot make He nor destroy am for me. No major work has been done on the engine, I dey maintain the Korope wella as it's still serving me well. Na to Park am for compound, go office and then enter road for night. I dey make better extra income before Salary enter for month end.

Everybody wan live for city, this same keke nah hot cake for village, i know a guy that makes 20k within 3hrs from 4am to 7am just hauling farm produce to market.

I always pray everyday that i left Lagos for village because what i have achieved in village, i cannot achieve one tenth of it if i was still in Lagos.

The same high he is experiencing would also turn to pain if he continues that line of transport.How can you use Keke to be transporting farm produce everyday? Won't the keke develop fault easily?I bet you he can't do that on a daily basis for 2weeks without the keke needing serious servicing or one major repair.

If u want to invest in transport, buy brand new car.

When it recover 150% of d cost price, save d 100%. Sell d car and buy another brand new one. You may need to complete it with some percentage of d remaining 50%.

That's how to make money in transport business if u don't want expensive repairs to ruin you.

Keke does not have second hand value.
