As at today, so far no one has more G+A in Afcon 2025 than Ademola Lookman (4)

Vs Tanzania ⚽️
Vs Tunisia🅰️🅰️⚽️

4 - 2 goals, 2 assists.

A tournament Super Beast.
Rightly named MOTM/Game MVP.

Iwobi did a good job here with that pass to Osimhen
lbrichman2:
Watch the build up to our third goal
It started with Onyeka who intercepted a pass and then Osimhen laid it off for Iwobi and ran into space..

Onyeka was cutting out passing lanes, marking and doing the dirty job
Had no business subbing him..
See here..

He wanted first choice ke? He has some gall, making demands when him mind no strong. Somebody that abandoned his First Choice jersey because of small social media drags that time? If he had not opted out of the last AFCON on top mental health, we wouldn’t be dealing with Nwabali today.

Anyway, he should just be posting TikTok thirst traps dey go, as Anthony Joshua gave him visibility. All the best to him at his club. They should have tried to use him for WCQ small before this AFCON. Chelle no even say make he scout Goalies for us, just carry Uzoho that is barely a professional footballer, and that other guy who’s more famous for looking like Onana, than any actual goalkeeping talent, to serious tournament.

Times like this, I miss Rohr
Wow. I missed you like crazy. Welcome back. I hope all is good.

TheSuperNerd, thank you for drawing my attention.

Watch that penalty osayi conceded
Then tell me whether Ejuke was anywhere close to him
I await your answer
Regarding the part of the pitch where the duel took place, where exactly do you want Ejuke to be?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:46am On Dec 28, 2025
Only Ejuke dropped 3 defensive contributions. Simon Moses surprisingly dropped Zero defensive contributions. Chelle should not have brought on 2 wingers at the same time. One was enough.

The other should have been a midfielder with emphasis on defense and ball holding/retention.

Meliforme:
I have read a lot of criticisms on Chelle regarding his game management and this is my perspective.

The Tunisians were mounting a lot of pressure on the flanks, and Chelle needed to foil the pressure.
Ndidi was even out of his position to defend the flanks.
That was the motive behind the substitutions Chelle made.

Again, in competitions there is what we call the game momentum. The momentum of the game shifted for obvious reasons and the Tunians siezed it to see what they can grab.

He took out Onyeka, thinking it was going to be a rout. This coach keeps making silly errors that will surely cost us
Thank you for the info and I hope Chelle learns from this.

It was Onyeka ooo. More reason why I was mad when he was being subbed not for another midfielder sef but for a winger who came in and dropped Zero defensive contributions. Chelle should take his time.

Odunayaw:

Nwabali, it pains me to say that the guy is off his rails. We hoping to reclaim the AFCON 23 Nwabali but that guy is gone. He should be replaced.

Bros Botswana is an african minnow, Tunisia is an Afcon giant/winners….no dey compare them.
We have played 4-2 with Tunisia before at afcon…we were leading them like 2-0 and they tried doing a come back but we kept scoring them….we played 2-2 at world cup qualifiers 2009, we played a 1-1 at afcon 2004 semifinal they won us on penalties, we met again at afcon 2006 playing 1-1 in the quarterfinals but we on penalties…..they are not botwana that senegal played….Lets senegal lead DRC 3-0 lets see wether they will end the game 3-0😃😅
Is Tanzania not another minnow? Why we no give them 3-0? We escaped luckily today but for how long we will continue to come up with all sorts of defence for this sloppy play, Issorite

It's unfortunate that he his performing different theatrics at the moment. The same NWABALI that took us to the AFCON final with his acrobatic save is the one committing errors now😟

Make everybody calm down, the Tunisians were not on the field to sell pepper. This is not unusual in football, it was the same Chelle that played Gabon and Benin.

Even our girls did same to the Moroccans in the last WAFCON final.[quote author=Goke7 post=137932318]For those defending Chelle, continue

Onyeka is a fine player.
But to burst your bubble, it was Ndidi that handled the bulk of the dirty job in the middle.
Frank Onyeka wasn't anywhere near Ndidi's intensity.

Please, calm down.

Tanzania (28th in africa) get levels pass Botswana(42nd in africa) the gap is clear…from club football to national team…
Tanzania senior Botswana wella….however shaaa if we had led Tanzania 3-0 as we did against Tunisia, bro dem for don give up, they would have even opened up more space for super eagles to plaster them…don compare them to Tunisia….Tunisia, even when you leading them 5-0 will still keep coming out to fight you oo

Let’s keep up defending this crap like we did till we were edged out of the World Cup qualification. It’s easy to defeat this team just wait till the coach bring in his wingers and take midfielders out. Not a surprise anymore! Am even surprised he didn’t remove osihmen today cos he’s always full of surprises

Ndidi was unplayable against Rwanda
With the extra support from Onyeka, I believe he will have one of his better games today
I called this earlier before the match
