Bright Osayi tried. But he should be substituted as from 70th minute of every game. Loss of concentration or wetin I no know. Against Zimbabwe, Congo and now Tunisia.
Probably fatigue. Running up and down no easy especially without someone ahead of him.

Egbon u know that Benjamin played because of circumstances as no big boy was available, if the older guys were there, he probably won't have played in the unity cup so it may not be about training.
Benjamin Frederick na my boy wey I Sabi very well...when he got his invitation I said it here, with no sentiment he is starting but some said NO...the boy na all rounder...I bet it he will play DM role and guys will forget Ndidi, put him there and see class..he was like Oliseh that had five star performance in his debut against Ethiopia in 1993 and never looked back... Benjamin Frederick na baller,no be player to warm bench especially with what we have in eagles

Truth is both fullbacks actually tried yesterday and yes Bright, aside the controversial penalty call, especially showed improvement yesterday although he did struggle a bit against Tounekti who came on. This, I believe, was part reason for the introduction of Ejuke to help out on the right channel.

Bright was key to our possession-transition plays on the right channel and provided more final third penetration. Bruno on the other hand won more duels, made more tackles and provided crosses.

As non-rated as both were before the game, they actually delivered solid showings for the most parts.

I have analysed this situation over and over.
A midfielder will not present as the effective weapon against the momentum of the Tunisians as well as plug the zones they were exploiting.

Wingers will not only plug the zones, but will provide more attacking threat that can push the Tunisians back.

What the Tunisians had wasn't game tactics, they have been beaten to it, what they had was just momentum. If we had managed to score just one, which we can, they will look for their sleeping mats.

The Super Eagles is not a team that can survive being on the back foot for long even with our midfielders.
you sabi, I also feel the substitution was not bad. The idea was good. Ideally bashiru instead of ejuke would have been better , but he did poorly in the last game. And no winger defends well than Simon in the team currently.(If you know you can suggest). Guys ERIC Chelle is good. But how do you even remedy the nonsense ejuke played. I am a big fan of his but he added nothing to his game today. Eric Chelle thinking was great but the personnel deployed failed. Ejuke should just kiss super eagles good bye because Eric chellle doesn't seem like who forgets easily. The reason dele didn't come in was because of his last performance . But you have to give it to osimhen. Very unselfish with the pass to lookman. Ejuke had the same chance he went for personal glory. It's clear why some players progress others don't.

Left footed Taribo West ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥

Calvin Bassey completed 61 out of 64 passes, created two chances, one big chance, 7/8 accurate long balls, two clearances, and one successive dribble.

Osayi was massive last night. He helped us to keep possession. Sometimes previous errors of players just keep following them. Same with Nwabali apart from that unnecessary tackle when ref has blown his whistle I too don’t understand all the attack on the keeper for that 1st goal conceded, he simply slipped due to the pitch soaked in rain! But previous errors just make him an easy target for any slip up.

CAF needs to take urgent action in this ongoing AFCON. The standard of officiating has been very poor. Some referees are clearly favouring certain teams with questionable and corrupt decisions that are ruining matches.

Both on-field referees and VAR officials are awarding dubious penalties. The number of errors in this tournament is becoming unacceptable. Instead of applying the rules fairly, some referees seem to be influenced by crowd pressure, CAF politics, or so-called “big teams.”

FIFA is watching, and if this continues, these referees will disgrace the continent at the World Cup next year. The bias is obvious. Referees are killing the games. Shame, shame, shame.

From a Tunisian fan via X

“ have to say playing against him is genuinely scary and frustrating. Our centre backs aren’t usually this bad, and we rarely struggle this much when defending crosses. But this guy is an absolute monster.

Right now, I genuinely think he has the best box presence in world football. His movement is extremely intelligent, he knows exactly when and where to attack the space, and physically he is on another level. His strength makes it almost impossible to duel with him, his jumping ability is insane, and he always seems to be at the end of every single cross.

With all due respect to Galatasaray, he’s seriously wasting his prime years in Turkey. He deserves a better team in a top league”

he was just better than he was in our first game

He doesn’t bomb forward and was easily turned in and out on 1v1 situations severally against Tunisia

Dude is wack

Nobody is talking about the three front men. Akor, oshimen, and lookman.i think the coach has found the right combination in he attack, he should keep on pairing them and we will go far in the tournament. I'm most happy for Akor Adam's very good player.

you don’t even need Fredrick’s for now

Another bloody central defensive combo will be Ogbu and Bassey. Both have this no nonsense approach when on the pitch

Two of our goals came from headers. The Super Eagles are becoming a real aerial threat to any team, and our set pieces are getting dangerous too.

The Baba was just ranting unnecessarily, it's fine complaining about the changes but the Chelle is this and that is not just it. Something Finidi couldn't do.
Meliforme:
Some people just want to be heard and out of their emotions they say rubbish.

The way we transited the ball from defence to the final third was a scene that was very rare in our football, but now we carry it out with ease.
This is the sweetest of football that i have seen of the Super Eagles in a very long while.

He did not see any positive to comment about, just the opening of his mouth to talk about a scenario that is beyond his understanding.
The wingers did their job.

To kill the momentum of the Tunisians we needed wingers with the energy to run into space, to run with the ball and make something happen and we almost succeeded.

Moses Simon please allow others shine. Ejuke own the LW. Well i trust Eric Chelle he knows how to retire players.

TheSuperNerd:
Only Ejuke dropped 3 defensive contributions. Simon Moses surprisingly dropped Zero defensive contributions. Chelle should not have brought on 2 wingers at the same time. One was enough.

The other should have been a midfielder with emphasis on defense and ball holding/retention.

See they are players who transmit panic. Even when they are playing well, you are like heyyy Hmmm abeg oo. Osayi is that kind of player. You know no matter how good he plays, a slip, a rash tackle, a hand in the air is not far away.

Then they are players like Benjamin, smooth, calm and confident. Even if he makes an error, your mind go still dey.

So sometimes it's not the play, it's the vibes.

His overall performance was poor?
In just 11 minutes of play, he contributed to the team's defense much more than some players that lasted over 90 minutes.

Football is about risks. What if he succeeded. You are talking about one of the best dribblers in the world. Just before this tournament, he was leading in the number of dribbles completed per 90 in La Liga, ahead of Yamine Lamal.
