So many firsts at this AFCON.

– Ndidi's first goal for Nigeria
– Mozambique's first AFCON win (17 games)
– Benin Republic's first AFCON win in 15 games

I believe there's more to come.

Ejuke plays football like a primary school kid, very lazy and weak on the ball. Flair without work rate. Also very selfish.
Aside from fumbling his lines in attack, he also struggled to track back and support the defence.
The Tunisians understood that and kept hammering that wing like crazy.

Hope the coach took notes😆

Many people don't know how popular this sports thread is for Nigerian football.
You will see improvement on the side of the coaches and players in the next match.

make him break the record mk person for once hear word for those US 94 set

Na just few of them like Jay Jay, Okechukwu, Adepoju etc I dey regard but those ones parading themselves as coaches eeh dem follow for Wetin dey happen to our football currently
At least they made themselves available to serve,if not we for no get 3 AFCON by now.

US 94 set won AFCON as players, one of them won as a coach, Siasia, Eguavoen, even Amuneke you reserved a special hatred for have all gotten something out for us from coaching our national teams.
What is it that you could not separate their achievements from their personality?
How many of them you disregard that constitute the USA 94 set?
Just Oliseh,Finidi,Siasia and Amuneke out of over 15 players.
You don't have any case against those legends to be sincere.

Osimhen breaking Rashidi's records,God's willing, have nothing do with USA sets achievements,na you just want drag them.

TheSuperNerd:
Truth is both fullbacks actually tried yesterday and yes Bright, aside the controversial penalty call, especially showed improvement yesterday although he did struggle a bit against Tounekti who came on. This, I believe, was part reason for the introduction of Ejuke to help out on the right channel.

Bright was key to our possession-transition plays on the right channel and provided more final third penetration. Bruno on the other hand won more duels, made more tackles and provided crosses.

As non-rated as both were before the game, they actually delivered solid showings for the most parts.
Looking back at the game in hindsight, as it has been said many times already, Alhaji Eric could have brought on the two wingers without sacrificing Onyeka. Take out Akor and Luku and play a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1. That way midfield still compact and wings blocked off. Anyways we won and that is what counts.

The team's spatial awareness and offensive transition has been the best I have seen in a long while.

It is foolhardy and somewhat shameful expecting FIFA to disqualify DRC on the premise of our interpreting their National constitution.

If the guys get an AFCON title, that would help their legacy and which has taken a battering already. Osimhen is destined to be Naija's all time goal scorer. The only disappointment could be the lack of WC appearances on his resume.

Iwobi has been excellent, at a time in the match when we were so much under pressure he slowed down the game shielding the ball, showing leadership. I was impressed and that’s what I had always wanted from him. I hope he continues this way!

DW Africa said reportedly meaning they are getting the story from same disingenuous source out. No reference to any fifa decision. looking at the time they posted it, it came out like 2 days ago when the current rumour came out and that one too did not have a source from FIFA.

Some people just want to be heard and out of their emotions they say rubbish.

The way we transited the ball from defence to the final third was a scene that was very rare in our football, but now we carry it out with ease.
This is the sweetest of football that i have seen of the Super Eagles in a very long while.

He did not see any positive to comment about, just the opening of his mouth to talk about a scenario that is beyond his understanding.
The wingers did their job.

To kill the momentum of the Tunisians we needed wingers with the energy to run into space, to run with the ball and make something happen and we almost succeeded.
There is a saying: The ends justify the means. What was the result of removing your midfield workhorse for two wingers?? That's the issue.

Remember we almost ended up drawing 3-3!

needed cover? Osayi was left stranded for the most part when ejuke was there. At some point the attacks were facing osayi's side and he had no help.
Osayi was stranded for the most part?
Ejuke was not brought on to do Osayi's job, and never was Osayi stranded if you understand the basics of tactical defending.
Ejuke's first action was to close down and mark out a player right on Osayi's position, he covered for Osayi and he did that leaving his primary position vacant. What if the team recovered, and launched a counter, Ejuke will still get the whip for leaving his position.

I will be pleased if you cite the very instances where Osayi had no help.

In 2024/2025 season in La Liga, Chidera Ejuke was in the top 10, even ahead of Christantus Uche in possession won in the final third per 90. That is to tell you how immense he contributes to the team's defensive structure and behaviour.

I watched the highlight of the Nigerian vs Tunisia match. Bright Osayi did very well . Why are Nigerians condemning him ?
