I have called them about the issue. There's so much glitch in that app and the secondary market purchase don't go through and they held onto my money for 10days. Stanbic needs to address issues regarding buying tbills via the app it's difficult and not seemless. I won't be using it again. I'll stick to traditional banking

Your money laying idle for ten days isn't really nice. You can explore the other option. Talk to your account officer

Key Investment Principles for Smarter Financial Decisions

As we transition into 2026, it is important to reflect on the lessons from 2025. The year presented a mix of gains, missed opportunities, and learning moments. Many individuals began their investment journey, others consolidated existing portfolios, while some explored new asset classes.
The lessons from 2025 remind us that successful investing is not about luck or speculation, but about structure, knowledge, and consistency.

As we enter 2026, in about 10 days, investors are encouraged to move with clarity, discipline, and informed judgment.
This handout highlights core investment principles to guide decision-making in the year ahead.

1. Capital Preservation Comes First
The primary objective of investing is to protect your capital.
High returns are attractive, but they should never outweigh the importance of safety. Always understand the downside risk before committing funds.
Protect first, grow second.

2. Invest Only in What You Understand
You do not need to invest in everything.
Before investing, ensure you understand:
• How the investment works
• How returns are generated
• The risks involved
• How and when you can exit
Knowledge reduces costly mistakes.

3. Start with What You Have
You don’t need millions to begin investing. Start with your current capital and grow gradually.
• Small, consistent investments compound over time
• Mutual funds can help build capital toward larger goals like bonds or real estate
• Waiting too long can expose your money to inflation risk
Action beats delay.

4. Beware of Ponzi Schemes
Ponzi schemes exist in every market cycle. Be cautious of:
• Guaranteed or unusually high returns
• Pressure to act quickly
• Lack of transparency or regulation
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

5. Make Decisions Based on Facts, Not Rumors
Avoid making investment decisions based on hearsay or social pressure.
Proper due diligence should always come before investment. At times, informed investors may act alone—confidence should come from research, not popularity.

6. Diversify to Manage Risk
Risk is better managed when investments are spread across asset classes such as:
• Mutual funds
• Treasury Bills
• Federal Government Bonds
• Stocks
• Real estate
Diversification reduces overexposure to any single investment.

7. Be Tax-Aware
With evolving tax laws, investors should consider tax-efficient instruments.
Where direct bond investment is not possible, instruments with FGN Bonds as underlying assets can offer relative stability and tax advantages.
Always consider after-tax returns, not just headline yields.

8. Remember the Golden Rule of Investing
Warren Buffett’s timeless principle:
Rule No. 1: Never lose money.
Rule No. 2: Never forget Rule No. 1.

Final Note
Successful investing in 2026 will reward discipline, education, diversification, and patience. Focus on long-term wealth creation rather than short-term speculation.
Wishing you a disciplined, informed, and high-yielding 2026 ahead

Well said Mr E. O.
The best time to invest is now. Always remember to diversify(Invest across several asset classes Fixed income, stocks, real estate etc). But if it's fixed income(Treasury Bills, fixed deposit, Bonds, CPs, Mutual funds etc you understand, then play along this asset vehicle.

Do your due diligent, research more, drop your questions here also(there are active and silent members that will guide you as beginner).

Tax evasion is a crime, but tax avoidance is not be wise!
Are you trying to avoid tax, and you don't have money for the FGN Bonds or you don't want to wait for the long tenor associated with direct investing in bonds, or you want something similar to MMF while enjoying a stable bond nature, then with as low as 5k, you can invest in the SFS Fixed Income Fund to get 17.01%.

As the year slowly wind down and the newly enforced Tax policy takes effect in January.

I felt the need to do a video explaining 6 types of narration to use when intending to send money or someone intending to send you money or even moving money around into different accounts for investment.

These narrations/remarks are necessary so when you get caught up in Tax issues, upon which your bank account gets audited by the Tax officials, you won't get over taxed due to the fact that your past transactions were labeled.

Don't forget to subscribe after watching the video.

12 Things to Remember in 2026 (One for Each Month)

January – Remember your investment objective
Always be clear about why you are investing. Your goals should guide every decision you make.

February – Remember you are the sole manager of your portfolio
Advice is helpful, but the final responsibility for your investments rests with you.

March – Remember that nobody can perfectly time the market
The market has a mind of its own; consistent strategy beats prediction.

April – Remember the market has two directions
Markets move up or down—bull or bear. Both phases are normal and inevitable.

May – Remember money can be made in both bull and bear markets
Opportunities exist in every market cycle for informed and disciplined investors.

June – Remember not all celebrated stocks have strong fundamentals
Popularity does not always equal value. Always look beyond the hype.

July – Remember to prioritize return of capital over return on capital
Protecting your principal is more important than chasing high returns.

August – Remember you can start investing with what you have
You don’t need to wait for “enough money.” Consistency matters more than size.

September – Remember the stock market is best suited for long-term investing
Patience and time are key ingredients for sustainable wealth creation.

October – Remember the power of compound interest
Small, consistent returns can grow significantly over time when compounded.

November – Remember to enjoy part of your gains
Investment is meant to serve you—reward yourself wisely along the journey.

December – Remember to take responsibility for every investment decision
Own your choices, learn from mistakes, and grow in experience and discipline.
