Amgoodtogo:
So today, I was able to book appointment for tomorrow with VFS Global for my Visa. Norwegian embassy in Nairobi oversees the issuing of visa for Iceland.

Here are the payments I made today

1. Payment for VFS Global service: N90k
2. Payment of Visa application fee: €90 (N162,000) this is actually not supposed to be paid for, so I am told I'll be getting a refund.
3. Then I'll be expected to pay courier charges, N35k

Will update as my Waka take go.

Images below:

1. Shengen Visa application
2. Visa application fee payment receipt
Thank you so much for your consistent feedback on this thread.
Waiting for your next update
Re: Can A 35-40 Years Old Study Abroad As An Undergraduate? by Amgoodtogo:
Visa currently being processed by Norwegian embassy in Ghana as against Nairobi as previously mentioned.

Next Steps for Me.

1. Finalizing Accommodation
2. Booking Flight

Finalizing Accommodation
Due to how tight it's been for me money wise hence my plans to squeeze through with my tiny budget.

Booking flight
Budget between 1.5m to 2m for your flight ticket

So, currently waiting for the arrival of my Visa/Passport.

In the interim, I don begin arrange foodstuff and other items I know I'll be needing that may not be easily available over there.

I no even plan to buy clothes from here, just very very few, when I reach there go locate their flea market. Then also locate groups and/or location where people give out free stuff.

I used my bsc
Hi, bro, may i know why you chose to go for another B.Sc when you already have one in Nigeria?
Will they issue you a post-study visa after your B.Sc over there? If so, how many years?

Iceland offers some undergraduate studies, as well as post graduate diploma course for free. And they are taught in English.

I'm 42yrs old, and relocating to Iceland via study route for a 3yr bsc program. By September, I should be in Iceland by God's grace. Just paid my registration fee, and other payables. Currently waiting for my resident permit.
Please how did you go about this?

Please go through the thread from page 2, I gave details of my entire process and what I did along each step of the way.

But in a nutshell here are steps I took.

If you are looking at migrating to Iceland via study route, here are some tips I believe will be helpful. At least these were how I went about pursuing mine.

1. Look for an English taught course (note: as at this moment, tuition is free for majority of courses both those taught in English or Icelandic)

2. Have your IELTS sorted
3. Have your certificates and transcript ready
4. Send in your application as soon as the school starts receiving application

Once you receive your admission letter,

5a. Pay the following: registration fee, resident permit fee, and medical insurance.

5b. Get your police clearance certificate
6. Apply for resident permit

7. Send the required documents via DHL to Iceland immigration services. You will be sent a checklist of the documents you're required to submit.

8. Then you can proceed to register for student accommodation where you will be placed in queue. And when it's your turn, you will be assigned or allocated your chosen or available accommodation. After which you will be required to make a deposit, and subsequently...

I also left links to the school's website as well as Iceland immigration site.

Hope this helps.

Yes you are entitled to a maximum of 100hours in a month to work as a student.

Since you are already on the Austria move, just be patient. Then try to always follow-up with them on the status of your applications.

This whole thing requires patience and prayers boss.

Damn.. this is serious.
Well it has pretty much gotten tougher in most other European countries. Even Iceland. The level of scrutiny is now very high. Then again, their recent immigration policies are now geared towards drastically discouraging immigration into Iceland.
DOI has requested that universities should now have a cap on the number of intake, especially for non-eu foreigners. For instance, University of Iceland will not be receiving applications for the 2026/2027 year for some English taught courses.

So the whole thing is crazy now.

Unfortunately I don't have info for other European countries and their study route.

I could see that most of their courses are been taught in Icelandic language except International studies in Education, I want to ask for your opinion for someone like me that isn't interested in international studies in Education but other engineering course, will I have to first enroll to learn Icelandic language? Is there a tutorial center for that in Nigeria like Portuguese language learning center in Lagos? What's the duration of learning Icelandic, cost and application process? Thanks

I'm not aware of any icelandic language learning center. I can't speak on courses or programs taught in icelandic. I'll advise you make your inquiries directly from the dept.
