From the scene, I can imagine it as an overtaking gone wrong.
Possibly on a high speed, because that impact cannot occur at 80km/hr, or even 100. The Airbags would have also saved the passengers

I'm not disputing the fact that those trucks parked on the road are a nuisance. But remove that truck there and replace it with a road divider, the accident would still have happened.

If they did crash into a parked truck... then I will assume the truck had no reflectors.... they were speeding a bit ... visually impaired...maybe under the influence.... and almost sure neither of two in front was wearing seat belt. With the impact ...they will immediately fly forward to exit the windshield..... the airbags at full force going in the opposite direction will slam them in the face and chest ... which probably lead to a broken neck. Seat belts are sooo important in saving lives in such head on collisions .... you remain upright in the seat.and protected by the he airbag. If not ... missile you will be Let's hope go details

Wearing a seat belt does not guarantee you 100% protection in a head-on collision at top speed!
