The truth is targeting your next opponent and getting an easy route through the knockout stages is very important

I pray we win and leave stubborn opponents alone
A strike team of Dessers and Onuachu is more than enough to get us a win against Uganda

Bringing Nwakali was not to compare him to Iwobi but to point out what was expected of him on the defensive side back at the 2021 Afcon despite his high offensive stats in terms of chance creations.

If this was a comparison, Iwobi was at the 2021 Afcon too. I would have pointed out their Afcon 2021 numbers. But that is not the case.

Now, Iwobi is in same Nwakali scenario now as in 2021 but being excused from the defensive discussion. This is where the hypocrisy angle comes in.

If we held Nwakali back in 2021 by certain standards defensively then we should do same for Iwobi in 2025. Afterall, we want a stronger and better Super Eagles midfield especially when we come up against top guns like Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, Cameroun or Ivory Coast who all boast really solid midfield setups at this Afcon.

Chikena.

Got you Doc! no P.

Well, you also name dropped Nwakali who hasn't done anything near Iwobi for the national team.

As regards mentioning Okocha many people criticized him for his lack of defensive contributions too even though he was a magician on the ball.

Again, like I said before I also want Iwobi to do his fair share of defensive work but if it will be at the expense of his attacking contributions, I know what I will choose.

My Joy is my boy Onyedika gets to play full 90 mins today.

We get to access Ryan Alebiosi maybe we can relegate Osayi to bench finally hehehe.

Ultra aerial ball today....we go laugh tire for some crossings... We know whom I'm referring.

As for Okocha. Come on! He is Jay Jay. So good he got named twice. He and Kanu are to Nigerian football what Messi and CR7 are to world football today. Nobody looked or cared about their defensive side because offensively they were the absolute true magicians.

Same cant be said of Iwobi. Same could not even be said of Mikel Obi. And Mikel is a midfielder several classes above the talent Iwobi is.

New Offside Rule Incoming??

BREAKING: FIFA & IFAB have OPENED the door for Arsene Wénger’s offside rule proposal (the attacker is only offside when he’s fully ahead of the defenders)

The idea is to discuss it in the General Assembly in February, then implement it starting from 2026/27 season.

See, victor osihmen is his own undoing. Was it necessary attacking the lineman against Tunisia getting unnecessary yellow card? And I am sure because he wants to get goals reason he must have lured Eric Chelle to play him. But If that is not the case, Eric Chelle must be smoking serious Indian hemp playing osimhen , knowing fully well how he is injury prone and on yellow card.

Chelle's refusal to take Okoye to AFCON is so criminal.
Baba, stop peddling lies and drop this agenda to malign Chelle. Maduka chose his club over the Super Eagles. He wanted guarantee of first choice at the AFCON which he was not given.

Thereafter, he opted out of the AFCON squad saying he preferred to play regularly for his club than sit on the bench at the AFCON. This is not rumour or hearsay and has been confirmed by his close confidant/sports journalist, Oma Akatugba who has justified the decision in many fora.

Maduka only pulled this stunt because we did not qualify for the world cup. He made a choice and I respect that but he should also be axed from the Super Eagles forever. Let him live with the consequences of his decision.

Against a Uganda team he’ll thrive trust me

He can boss the midfield and hold his own

But his man to man marking that’s his problem he’s not dirty enough
Sometimes it not just important for a player to start. Who the player is paired with matters.

Why is Akinsanmiro not in the starting line up.
FDB starting ahead of Akin has nothing to do with footballing reasons, except Akin is not fully fit.

Now, you guys will be blaming Simon. Did you guys see how he dribbed past two defenders and layed a goal-bound pass to Chukwueze who missed the target?
