Exactly what I had in mind when I posted earlier
It won’t work
Lookman wouldn’t suit Osimhen like Adams would
I think they’ve paired Osimhen with Lookman before
It didn’t work
He’s been paired with Onuachu, Boniface, Arokodare, Lookman
Only Adams play style would gel really well with Osimhen
Adams is a better complementary forward for Osimhen than Lookman
But that midfield is fire 🔥 though
If only we had all the defenders & goalies on that same level

Lookman and Osimhen partnership worked at the 2023 AFCON or have you forgotten?

I think it's safe to say we currently have the best midfield in Africa, only Morocco, Senegal and Ivory Coast are close.

Peseiro used 4-3-3 in the first game against E. Guinea & switched to 3 - 4 - 3 in the 2nd game
Your statement makes it seem like we used 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2 like Eric Chelle does in that tournament
Lookman Was on the left
If we take a look at the goals he scored or assisted
1st assist he was a left winger, crossed to Osimhen to nod in
1st goal was created by Osimhen’s solid hardwork
2nd goal was created by Bassey & Iwobi
3rd goal was created by Simon
So I don’t understand what you mean
We didn’t use 4-4-2 in that tournament
His position is different playing under Chelle
The formation is different

Im just confused it seems people aren’t seeing the selfless job Adams, Iwobi do in the team lol
Lol I guess it’s only goals and assist they watch

But you addded Morocco who last wom AFCON 40 years ago and has been to less WC than Tunisia. Im African Football Tunisia is more of a power house than Morocco and Senegal.

The real Power House in African football are Cameroon, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana Tunisia and Algeria
Forget powerhouse
Na form matter o
South Africa beat North African teams convincingly in recent tournaments but lost by a silly penalty lately
Some generations may not have quality players .eg, Cameroon, Tunisia in this generation
We used to fear Cameroun those days
Why didn’t Senegal or Nigeria beat tough DRC days ago ?
Senegal also struggled in that game
Ivory Coast currently will beat some of the powerhouses you mentioned sef
Sudan beat Ghana, Ghana didn’t even qualify like Nigeria didn’t in 2015 & 2017
Na form matter

Those peeps who always ranked Tolu Arokodare ahead of Paul Onuachu. How fa , how market?

Even when Tolu himself acknowledged that Onuachu was a big shoe to fill in Belgium. Paul at 31 looks slim and fit. Tolu , Dolphin estate boy, butty boy. And he carries himself like mummy's boy.

Paul is a real fighter oo, the team is not playing his style and pattern but he has adjusted. Dare I say , he is a worthy backup to Osimhen

1 cap, zero touch.

Impressive!
Do you think in 10 years time, anyone will be worried about how many touches he had in any of his caps?

We need an additional striker like that Cameroon's kofane. Before Osimhen go fit score that kind goal, he go tear ACL.

From what I've seen so far in this AFCON Morocco, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Senegal (haven't really watched them) have the best midfields one of them is definitely going to win the AFCON.

Morocco has sharpness and intensity. Not forgetting home factor. Weaknesses include home pressure to win, haven't really been tested, plus they look slightly fragile if you have a go at them.

Algeria has fluidity, defensive frugality and tactical sharpness. Weaknesses haven't faced serious opposition, don't know if they will cope under pressure. Guess we will find out against a top DR Congo side.

Ivory Coast has depth in midfield and resilience based on their comeback win against Gabon. Weaknesses include lack of a proper 9, suspect back ups in defense, nd average goalkeeper.

Nigeria has best attack at the AFCON, fluid midfield, plus back ups look decent. Weaknesses suspect defense and fragile goalkeeping personnel.

Senegal from the little I've seen direct, great middle and decent attack. Haven't seen too many obvious weaknesses but I think based on the DR Congo game they might struggle against much stronger opposition.

Any of the above teams that maximizes their strengths and manages their shortcomings the best will win the tournament.

Kofane is 19 yrs old, will Nigeria give a 19 year prodigy such a chance in a major tournament?

This is funny cos last AFCON we had a strong defense but non-existent midfield. Now it seems it's the other way round.

We had d midfield and defence,d only difference was d formation deployed..we relinquished possession by default due to d formation

If we had none ,we won’t get to finals

Tolu has scored 2 important goals for Nigeria
Especially when we needed it
You cannot bring on Onuachu when we desperately need a goal & expect him to deliver
Thé goals against Russia away & Rwanda at home were vital
I didn’t see Onuachus work in the EPL
Arokodare has caused serious problems for teams like Arsenal
Onuachu missed one decent clear cut chance in the 1st half against Uganda
When has Onuachu scored or come through when we desperately need a goal for Nigeria
Its the same Boniface argument
Looks like Arokodare has too many haters on this thread, I just speak fact
I don’t even know any of these guys
Arokodare has seemed more lethal for Nigeria than Onuachu
They may have better club achievements but Nigeria is a different ball game
Which club achievement does Sunday Mba have to Obi Mikel, but in that tournament Mba played better than Mikel in the KO rounds
Even if you don’t like Tolu’s personality, this is just the fact
Id rank him ahead of Boniface & Onuachu when it comes to making things happen when we desperately need it
Uganda was a friendly match lol
We already qualified
I hope Onuachu can get more goals in the KO rounds now that we need him & other strikers

Maybe I’d have to check past AFCON qualifiers to see Onuachus stats because I’ve forgotten to be honest
I could be wrong about Onuachu not delivering in the qualifiers & tournaments when we needed him though
