Why does opay getting themselves involved in spams phone calls. The whole ideal is becoming annoying and irritating.

Opay needs to stop calling customer randomly with ads. If they need to do anything like ads they can simply does that on the app ads not calling people randomly at business hours.

The NCC and CBN needs to stop that ASAP.

Truecaller and most phones have already flag all opay calling numbers as spams.

You must have borrowed moni on Opay Easy moni .

The Opay you see on Truecaller was tuped and saved by people.
Since the borrowed the moni thru Opay . They usually save the spam number with Opay but it's Easi Moni that's calling you and not Opay . Opay doesn't give loans . They only host loan giving business on Thier app.
The good thing about Opay is that the business of borrowing doesn't concern Opay . Its between you and the loaner. Whether you pay back or not, Opay will never deduct your money or stop you from using their own servics

I think those calling you are okash which is different from opay

Never had a call from any of this banks. Perhaps they pick numbers randomly.

They are the same people.. I had the same experience when I clicked on the loan option on opay app to see how it works.

The worst thing is that they don't call with one number. I've blocked more than 20 different numbers and still counting

use true caller to block them.

dey didn't call/disturb your peace b4 u borrowed money. until u borrowed money /refused to pay back.How I wish these people do background check on potential borrowers (Address/family house .If the house u are living in belongs to yo father .Once they advertise it FOR SALE ,you'll pay sharp sharp.

Madam don't say what you don't know o. As long as you have borrowed money before, whether you paid or not. Your number is already saved and if you eventually pick they will be saying do you want loans? We are a new loan company, can we give you loan? They will even be forcing you to collect loan.

The OP's experience cut across Opay users whether you've borrowed money or not. I have an opay account, I have never borrowed money from any app before, but opay still call me for adverts.

The calls are getting irritating, and I think it's right time to get them to stop generally, by taking some actions.

You cant generalize based on your experience alone.

Opay cant call everyone.
What they do is segment their customers into different groups and call those who fit a particular product they wanna advertise for.

They must have deemed you unlikely to purchase the product hence the lack of calls.

TBH, those advertisements calls can be very annoying.

It's possible you are oweing them.

Opay only call those who have done huge transactions. Also if you once purchase airtime ok 100k single recharge. you will be targeted for purchase more on that category for huge bonus e.t.c.

The way these kids filled the forum with BS is really alarming - they form a baseless opinion in their air-head and start passing it aggressively as fact!

I deactivated my Opay account since 2020; yet of recent, between 12-2pm daily, my phone must ring to their spam calls!
Thanks to Truecaller, I'm not bothered.

No. I just receive the call and put down my phone cuz I realized that if I reject the call they'll just keep on calling with different number but once I receive it that's the end of their spam call for the day.

Update, after I wrote you, I called Opay customer care and complained bitterly, told them it seems they want me to close my account. The lady then lead me through a process.
My is a personal account not business, so if yours is too, follow the below,
1.Login into the app
2. Click on finance (it is at the bottom)
3. Click on loan
4. Click on apply
5.click on FAQ (frequently asked questions)
6.click on marketing unsubscibe.
7. Unsubscibe.
