I wonder why someone would keep quiet and allow a driver endanger his/her life. Even in a commercial vehicle you can't carry me and be doing fast and furious on the road, me and dat driver go get problem. I was traveling to Port Harcourt some years back and the driver pulled over few minutes after we left the park. We thought something was wrong with the vehicle, he walked to a shop and bought sachets of alcohol. As he was about opening it one of the passengers screamed at him not to try that nonsense. The driver was angry and asked him what's his business with what he bought. Na dat time all of us come change am for am o, he sensed community panel beating would happen next and he respected himself by dropping the drinks and we continued our journey. |

It seems those two close dead friends of Joshua has nigerian roots their names sounds nigerian. Joshua was really extremely very lucky to have survived that accident if not for his sitting position the story would definitely be totally different he should go and do thanksgiving after full recovery. |

coputa:The important thing to be noted is that the driver used the right shoulder meant for stationary vehicles and pedestrians in overtaking> That is the primary cause of the accident as he meant a trailer lawfully parked there. The speed was so terrible the impact caused the trailer tyre at the point of impact at the back to burst which was the loud boom folks heard and gave the impression the accident was caused by a tyre burst. I see drivers do that very often on that road. The FRSC need to do public enlightenment on the matter but I have not seen that happen. |

Some "First responders " at Accidents scene are actually looking for what to steal. Purses/Wallets, Phones, Devices and Jewelleries. Some 2 years ago, a young man on a bike with the bike man died on the Road in my area when the bike ran into a stationary Dump Truck in the night (around 8pm. The road was not well lit) The Boy Laptop and Phone was stolen while his body was still on the road. I cried that night. |

| Re: Bystanders Stole Anthony Joshua's Phone At Accident Scene - Uncle by Jakumo(m): 9:45am On Jan 03 |
Lukuluku69:Indeed. The phrase "first responders" takes on a whole new demonic meaning in Nigeria, just as the Nigerian-invented word "sympathizers" describes swarms of thieves who descend on accident or disaster scenes to rob wounded and dead calamity victims. |

Listen to yourself, there were crowds of people there, every one was trying to help, how are we to know he was going to run away with the phone when everyone was focused on saving the victims life Leonardo4: |
| Re: Bystanders Stole Anthony Joshua's Phone At Accident Scene - Uncle by Lukuluku69(m): 10:33am On Jan 03 |
Jakumo:Actually it is nothing new. It has been an ongoing thing. Rumours has it that some Govt Agency saddled with safety on our Highways will often frisk dead accident victims and valuables (Cash mainly) change ownership before being deposit at morgue. It is that bad. |

As expected... I was even surprised he still had his necklace on. Boys are crazy o. Any accident victim will first lose valuables before they call for help for you. I was sure he would lose something with the kinda crowd there. The brave criminals no fit collect his chain as dem see say world champion eyes still dey open... Those hungry thieves no send you o. Jakumo:Baba I swear by God's name they do it! Especially CASH on dead Accident Victims. Not treaceable unlike Gadgets and Devices. Some 3 years ago, my wife told of a story of a woman that deals in Livestocks. She normally go to Ilorin, Oyo and some nearby towns to buy Goats. The famed West African Dwarf is her favourite. Buy from the interiors and resell in the Lagos area. On her way to Ilorin, there was an accidents at around Sagamu on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. On her was strapped the sum of #500k to trade. Villagers don't do transfers as we City people. My wife knew of the money because she coordinates the Ajo the woman had on her and she gave it to the woman a day before the unfortunate accident. When they got to Sagamu to retrieve the body, nothing was found on her. Nothing aside the bloodied clothes on her back. The daughter raised the issue of the money on her and the hospital people told her to talk to the Safery guys that brought her and that nothing was on her when they accepted the body. Baba, you see this our Country? Too many bad people dey. The Country is blessed but the bad people outnumbered the good ones. |

That is something have been thinking to myself too.due to the closeness with the governor of Ogun and Lagos, these governors ought to provide professional drivers to him whenever he is in lagos.the driver will even be one of the professional drivers in one of their entourage.whenever Joshua is in town,he becomes his driver for that period. Such a useless and unprofessional driver.even if ure depressed or angry with life, must u vent it on others? |

Razzness:The value some people place on phones in Nigeria is something else. In a developed society, when you lose your phone, say in public transport, go to their office the next day, and you’d find it there waiting. Stealing Anthony’s phone or any other accident victim’s phone is disheartening. For AJ, I wonder how Bystanders would steal his phone when he was on a convoy and the security men were the ones rescuing him in the photos online. How did the Bystanders get to the phone first? Hope it’s not one of those escorts |
| Re: Bystanders Stole Anthony Joshua's Phone At Accident Scene - Uncle by Cmanforall: 12:23pm On Jan 03 |
Bahamas95:There was an incident from a friend. The driver of a commercial vehicle was driving this same fast and furious. He was cautioned , but he continued. Unlucky for him, he approached the FRSC, whom was about waving him to pass. Passengers had to raise voices and signs and he was stopped. They explained to the FRSC. I think Nigerians should also report reckless drivers to police or FRSC on the highway. |
