Obi Of Issele-uku Kingdom Bans Yoruba Asoebi During Traditional Marriage by Ezeama400(op): 10:53am On Jan 03
The Obi of Issele-Uku Kingdom, HRM, Obi Engr. Nduka Ezeagwuna, bans the use of Yoruba styled 'Asoebi' during traditional marriages, while advocating the use of 'akwa-ọcha' as the known traditional attire of the Enuani people.

It’s a welcome development .

Does this need to go round every where particularly the south east where even some brain dead keke drivers are playing rubbish Lagos music while driving. There was nothing I did not see in south east, from radio station to TV station to lounges, hotels, restaurants, supermarket all playing rubbish , meaningless gutter music. Particularly Aba and umuahia. Owerri, Enugu are far enlightened.

Good one. They have nothing in common with the Yorubas. The white robe with the Ada symbol truly reflect their Bini origin.

Oba gha to kpe'ee!

It is a safe bait for them following what happened to Uzoart, everyone needs to wisen up. Owanbe or Owambe nearly wrecked someone's career. Everyone needs to wisen up

I hope when the SW decide to go the same way with your idea, there won't be cries and lamentations on the social media space?

What exactly have they not done , some months ago a particular yoruba film producer decided to narrate the Igbo apprenticeship system on movies, I have forgotten the name of the movie and the whole igbo nation kept quiet as if nothing was happening. Later an igbo girl (uzoart)tried to do an art exhibition titled Owambe and all hell was let loose.

There was even an obi of Lagos whose only crime is that he tried to raise money for a cultural and village centre in festac , he has been arrested but the same thing is being done by yorubas in the east and no body is raising dust.

Please yorubas do your very very very very worst

Let the yorubas do their very very very worse please

Either Obi of issele like or not, we're conquering his people without making noise, it's a must to conquer them mentally.

All these Lagos born Igbos AKA my Mama say I be Igbo, that loves bringing everything foreign to Ala-Igbo because to them those are the best should be watched closely. They are the ones corrupting our culture...

How does this affect the unborn children of Issele-Uku Kingdom? If the doesn't affect them, then the entire idea is useless

Exactly, those Lagos brought up are becoming nuisance in Igbo Land.imagine they have gone to that extent of speaking Yoruba to their fellow Igbo men without caring whether you understand youruba or even stayed in Yoruba land.Shameless.I support this move with two bottles of Aromatic schnapps.

Who gave him that power in Nigeria?

The last I checked no king should have that kind of power in Nigeria according to Nigeria constitution.

What have you guys not done already? In fact I pray you guys should raise the bar and do more than you are doing now. It will help in disintegration of this fraud of a country.

He lacks the authority to make and enforce that ban. His declaration is repugnant to the provisions of the constitution regarding fundamental human rights, and is therefore, a nullity!

Their land, their rules

Nobody dragged them there. If the affected people are not comfortable with the new law, let them return back to where they came from

Well welcomed.

If Ada cannot do an ordinary art tagged "owambe" to promote Yoruba culture she cherished in Lagos, why should Enuani people be using Yoruba styled traditional attires during traditional wedding in Enuani, leaving their own Enuani white attire?

Well done his Royal Majesty sir
Re: Obi Of Issele-uku Kingdom Bans Yoruba Asoebi During Traditional Marriage by huptin(m): 2:23pm On Jan 03
I noticed this trend. Even some igbo weddings will be full of guys wearing the Yoruba demon styled aso ebi.

Its a good thing, fashion evolves. People who are impervious to change can only wail...change will come.

For those who are not aware, Issele-Uku is a town that serves as the headquarters of Aniocha North LGA in Delta State.

It was a great privilege to be of assistance to you today. 😁

"??

I found this statement somehow.

The fear of Yoruba Aso Ebi taking over your own and later on people will be claiming 1 Nigeria.
Re: Obi Of Issele-uku Kingdom Bans Yoruba Asoebi During Traditional Marriage by UkoAnnang(m): 2:52pm On Jan 03
cheesy

Brilliant move there

I detest that style
Just because on one drug baron somewhere the entire people are now neglecting their customs and embrace another attires.

I know someday my people will get there.

When I have my way I will make sure no Yoruba no Hausa attires and customs are being put on display in Annang Land
