Unpopular opinion but Benjamin fredrick is too short to be a world class centre back

His height will prevent him from reaching his full potential in that position

He's better in a full back or defensive midfield position

you mean in time for the WC play offs?

ChrisKels:
Good to have Aina back. Anybody know when Benji and Agu will be back?

As a boy, my love for this photo was crazy.

Nna ehn, e better make I no chop food, than make I no watch a super eagles match. I always saw the super eagles as the numero uno of national teams globally. Nothing concern me with club football eventhough I loved Barca because of Guily and then, Dinho.

This picture is my number1 photo for the super eagles.
Some people love their clubs but feel nothing or are indifferent to the Super Eagles. How is that possible. The thing dey baffle me.

It was SE that introduced me to football oo. Eagles for life.

The Nigerian team is formidable and capable of winning AFCON but my concern is the coach getting the selection right. More importantly team management after 75min seems to be the major problem. We easy conceed goals after 75mins
Nigeria vs Lesotho , we almost gave Lesotho an equalizer
Nigeria vs Zimbabwe. They score towards the end
Nigeria and Tanzania . Tanzania almost equalize
Nigeria vs Tunisia - we almost drew the game after leading by 3goals
Nigeria vs Uganda . 10 men Uganda scored .
After 75 mins it appears the team will sleep off.

What if Aina didn't want to go? He got injured and sidelined after the last AFCON and also there is an alleged story that he is miffed at the NFF for abandoning him after his last injury on national duty.
But NFF President went to see him. I doubt your story is true.

This is Benjamin Frederick below (3rd from left) in a lineup before kickoff. Taller than Frank Onyeka who stands at 1.83m. So nope you are wrong.

Frederick at CB can go all the way to the top. Shorter CBs like Lisandro Martinez of Man Utd and Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace (linked to the big clubs) are playing at a top level and like them, Frederick's ball playing skills is top notch so it is only a matter of time.

Now return to doing what you do best before a Nigeria game.

How tall is Madrid’s Asencio?

Your opinion is unpopular for the right reasons.

We always conceed goals in all our matches
From Gabon to Tanzania and Uganda . Mozambique will score but Nigeria should buried chances so that by 75mins we have 4 goals.
I am sure 😃 CAF will like Morocco to play final as compensation. It appears refs are intimidated by north African teams and officiating appears to favour them
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:24pm On Jan 03
The Club didnt want to risk Aina at the Afcon. They still feel miffed Aina was not available through out the reign of Postecoglou before they even fired him. We wanted him at the Afcon but Nottingham felt otherwise and perhaps even convinced Aina who in turn reasoned it out with the NFF.

My theory is the NFF didnt want to make a drama of the whole thing seeing the club has a point on missing Aina for a long period due to injury picked up vs SA on that Potato farm.

Odunayaw:
I was shocked to see Hakimi play.

If our NFF perceived value of Aina to our squad was high they should have gone all out to give guarantees to Nottingham to ensure he is at this AFCON.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m):
My point exactly. BENJAMIN IS taller than the "short" CBs he wants to make comparisons too. The lad is not short at all. His height is very decent for a CB. Everyone at the back cant be a Semi Ajayi.

NB: The 6ft 2 is incorrect as Google does mix up height numbers but Benjy being taller than the short CBs reference still stands.

i am so sure if he is in this Afcon , he will have either a goal and some reasonable numbers of assist . Another SE players that will always give his all . we have just very few of them in this current SE ....

Benji is not 6 "2.

Looks 5 "11 or 6 foot at best.

Doesn't mean Fredericks can't reach the biggest heights of his career.

Woe to SA for that potato farm fast play

It'd be be particularly painful if (when smiley ) we win the cup without Aina

In this photo, he looks taller than 5ft 11"

See how he and Bassey are almost similar heights, while he stands taller than Frank Onyeka. Osimhen had his head bent so is definitely taller than Benjamin.

That’s not a fact, I think it’s wrong
Lisandro Martinez of Argentina is a world class defender
Lisandro is 5 ft 10 or so

There is one chile defender very short, he's a central defender, he was at the heart of Chile defense when Chile won the South America cup back to back. I can't recall his name.

You see that FIFA case ehh 100% Dr congo is out... The problem now he say we fit still lose that intercontinental playoffs 💀
I'd rather play Algeria in quarter finals abeg than Dr congo
For semi final give me south Africa
Then finals Senegal
I think I this part will be more easier to win the AFCON than playing Dr congo in quarters, Morocco in semi's
Do you know if they played any of those players wey get comma at AFCON?

I just pray Chelle continues to win matches cos Nigerian journalists won’t spare him especially with his not giving them access to training sessions.

He had better continue to grind out results 😂 else na premium dragging e go chop

In my opinion he can be flexible in giving out just few minutes access. That won’t hurt much
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:18pm On Jan 03
Definitely. Because being 5ft 11 means he is 1.82m which he is clearly not.

I said "alleged" o. You are right, it may not be true. But scorenigeria reported that he was considering quitting. Now I admit this may be untrue. According to the story, they alleged that it was after the players strike that Gusau went to visit Ola. All these are allegations mind you.

Sarsaparilla524:
🚨 AFCON explained in club terms — if you’ve never really watched the tournament. 👀

African nations compared to European clubs… and suddenly everything makes sense 😅⚽

🇲🇦 Morocco = Arsenal
No matter their level or form, we all know how the story usually ends.

🇨🇩 DR Congo = England
A team full of hope every single year. They always say, “This is our year”… but it never happens.

🇬🇭 Ghana = AC Milan
A huge name with great history and trophies, but they failed to qualify this time.

🇧🇫 Burkina Faso = Tottenham
No matter how well they play, don’t worry — they’ll lose a match they were never supposed to lose.

🇩🇿 Algeria = Borussia Dortmund
They win a title once in a while. Champions in 2019 — don’t expect another one anytime soon.

🇨🇲 Cameroon = Chelsea
Just when you expect them to win a trophy, they always pull off something unpredictable.

🇳🇬 Nigeria = Real Madrid
Plenty of stars, not always the most beautiful football, but they always find a way to win.

🇨🇮 Ivory Coast = Atlético Madrid
They’re always around, and you never know when they’ll win — but when it happens, it’s a real shock.

🇸🇳 Senegal = Manchester City
A strong team without much history. First title in 2022, followed by plenty of disappointments.

🇿🇦 South Africa = Marseille
One trophy won a very long time ago. Since then, they’ve been living in nostalgia.

🇿🇲 Zambia = Leicester City
The ultimate underdog. They won AFCON mainly with local players — and no one knows if it will ever happen again.

🇪🇬 Egypt = Barcelona
They once dominated African football with trophies and beautiful play, but today they struggle to win.

🇬🇦 Gabon = Galatasaray
They attend every AFCON for purely touristic reasons.

🇲🇱 Mali = AS Roma
They love participating in AFCON, fully aware they’re not going to win it.
Most of this is incorrect in my opinion.

Nigeria is closer to Arsenal. Both teams generally play good football, but seem to come up short frequently when it’s time to win a title. Whether being knocked out in the SFs or coming up short in the finals as runner-ups. Nigeria is tied with Ghana with the most AFCON final losses (5) but we have 3 titles and they have 4. Nigeria has the most bronze medals at AFCON with 8.

Egypt is Real Madrid. Simply beacuse they have the most titles (7) similar to Madrid in UCL, and generally when they get to finals, they win. The Pharohs have been to 10 finals and won 7 of those. Madrid have 15 wins in 18 finals.

Ghana is similar to Benfica. Heavyweight across the continent but over 40 yrs since lifting a European/African title

Cameroon might be closer to AC Milan. 2nd most titles but haven’t won in a while
