Thank you for this review.

I am considering Norrenberger with all this Standard Chartered wahala.

Then again, to be fair reflecting on my experience with FBNQ App, your inability to login might have to do with your network. Before i always struggle to log-in it was later I realized if the network isn’t strong enough, it won’t log me in.
It used to work, then it just stopped. That's about the only reason I decided to stop using their service, I don't want to have to be restricted to special conditions to use their service. All this use one network,, don't use one network, your network bar must be full etc no be for me

Harddiskng:
This is why illiteracy is a threat to Nigeria.

The people that have no money, that the new tax law will favor are the ones making the most noise.
@Harddiskng, you said it all. Illiteracy, particularly financial illiteracy, is a big issue in our country. Somebody call me that he's afraid because they said the government will tax the money that comes into our accounts starting yesterday. I just laugh. How on earth does all the money that enters your account get taxed, even the system we are trying to copy doesn't do such a thing.

Honestly, apart from the method of collection and trying to encourage more people to pay tax, there is nothing new. Some is a simple change in nomenclature. Even people who actually make the noise, as you said, are the ones the government is fighting for. Imagine people shouting CGT, all their portfolio is not up to 10m, not to mention the 150m threshold.

Honestly, apart from the trust issue regarding the tax utilization on the part of the government, I don't see anything strenuous about the tax. All we want is that the tax collected should be utilized properly and not end up in some politician's pocket.

@bold are u saying one can pay to Norrenberger in naira & it will be converted to dollar? I thought they said payment must be through dollars?
@Jayce242, Norrenberger no longer accepts naira for dollar fund investment. They did that when the dollar fund just kicked off.
Actually, the SEC doesn't allow such because the license of fund managers doesn't include currency exchange. So, currently, you will need to bring in your dollars if you wish to invest in the Norrenberger dollar fund.

However, a soft landing is that you can pay your cash (dollars) into their Stanbic dollar collection account. So investors are not restricted to only transferring to fund their dollar fund account, which will remove the charges involved in transferring funds from a dom account. This is still a better method compared to what is obtainable with other fund managers.

Remember to always click the second link on my signature to open an account with Norrenberger. Just one account can be used for all their products - MMF, Fixed income (Turbo ), Islamic fund, and dollar fund.

Season Greetings good people,

I noticed my Cowrywise Q4 2025 earnings are yet to be reinvested.
(Specifically for Cowrywise and Trustbanc in Cowrywise).

Does anyone have this same experience on cowrywise?
No, it is not normal. My ARM MMF (on Cowry app) was reinvested by 9:50 AM today. But I'm still waiting for the Cowry MMF reinvestment update. 1st is a public holiday, so it's understandable they extended it till 2nd. Any extra extension past today isn't okay. I will check back later by late evening, to confirm though.
Re: Mutual Funds by OwlaRowl: 3:19pm On Jan 02
I just noticed this notification and can't seem to make sense of it.
Waiting till April, will mean losing the compound interest that should have been earned, if I were to reinvest my Q4 2025 earnings.

This should be for 2026 Q1 interest. Don't panic yet, your 2025 Q4 interest will be reinvested today or tomorrow latest.

Edit: the reinvestment alert just dropped now.

Yes, they are lagging behind the big boys. I think they just started the fund last year in Feb. I was told dividend is also distributed annually apart from the capital gains.
They aren't lagging. Cardinal Stone Equity Fund is benchmarked against the NGX30, other fund managers utilize different strategies too for portfolio composition. Cardinal Stone’s equity fund tracks the NGX30, whereas another fund manager can use different benchmarks.

So it's more of like different approaches/strategies to equity fund.

Please this government never fight for anyone!
Yes the tax maybe directed at the rich, that is because they want access to more money they can loot, because the rich controls the wealth. But saying they are doing this because they want to fight for the poor is laughable. Anything the government is doing is for their pocket & will benefit them more, nothing concern government with common man.

So in essence, Cardinal Stone Equity Fund is more like an ETF. One thing though, what’s the liquidity? How easy would it be to sell as i hear ETFs aren’t so liquid in the Nigerian Market
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 8:29pm On Jan 02
Right here. A minimum deposit of $500 USD is required. I'll think about it and give it a try. The rate fluctuates. On the app, I do see 10% most of the time. When I'm ready, I can transfer to the account they provided.

No, Cardinal Stone equity fund is a mutual fund and not an ETF. It's actively managed and they don't just copy/mirror market index, they research and pick specific stocks they think will outperform, But using NGX30 as the benchmark.
Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 8:44pm On Jan 02
They heavily invest in research.

Good. This is a clearer explanation. Your earlier post gave the impression it’s an ETF or Index fund

Good info.

Looks like i’d finally go with norrenberger dollar fund, I’d open Stanbic dollar account in the coming week.

Standard chartered is asking for too much, just for me to maintain Stanbic dollar fund and offering me too little.

It would be in Stanbic Asset Managers’’ best interest to look for a way to influence StanChart, so that their clients can keep their StanChart dollar accounts without the N7.5 million minimum investment requirement.

Please use the second link in my signature to open a Norrenberger dollar fund account to help my ministry o.

Main while you can operate the dollar fund account using dom account in any bank. It doesn't necessarily have to be a dom account in Stanbic Bank.
Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 12:45am On Jan 03
Use a fixed-income fund to avoid tax; but tax evasion is an offence

One way to avoid tax this year is to invest in FGN Bond-based mutual funds. Currently, Federal government-issued bonds are exempt from WHT. If you don't have the large some required for bond investing, an alternative is to invest in a fixed income fund. This will also help you avoid tax and have the stability of a rate associated with bonds.
Click on this link https://sfsfund.com/register?referral=4GJ0I3Q21G to invest at 17.01% in a fixed-income fund with SFS Capital

Same way you get every other app, app store or play store.

I can’t define “stable” in this context, my own is so far i can carry any transaction as intended; everything is as right as rain.

On January 2nd, I topped up my MMF account using Norrenberger's app. It still hasn't shown up. As soon as my dividend is credited, I'm done with them.
Re: Mutual Funds by Donbrig: 4:06pm On Jan 03
@EquityM, take it easy sir, We all are still in public holidays naa, including fund managers, main working activities starts next Monday, 5th January. Normally, Norrenberger fund managers don't waste time updating your account once you top-up, infact, they are the fastest in updating your account once you top-up.

Pls has anyone invested in VAULT via First Ally? It's just like treasury bills in that one can opt for upfront interest and with good rates.

I have always said you should fund your account using their collection account that is direct. Using the app or the web is passing through a third party payment system which they don't have power over.

Even at that, note that the period is end of quarter/ year end activities so there could also be delay in posting, also note that even if your inflow is not posted, so long it hit the account before the cut of time, you are sure of the value and interest for that day.

You may need to have some degree of patience as an investor and get some basic experience on how this things work.
Moving at any slight glitch may not give you a very desired result in your investment journey.

Notice, there are some managers right now there seems to be no accrued interest from 1st to date but that doesn't mean any loss for investors, by the time posting is done you have all values and interests from day one till date.
Let's learn while we earn.
Happy new year once again.
