What exactly have they not done , some months ago a particular yoruba film producer decided to narrate the Igbo apprenticeship system on movies, I have forgotten the name of the movie and the whole igbo nation kept quiet as if nothing was happening. Later an igbo girl (uzoart)tried to do an art exhibition titled Owambe and all hell was let loose.

There was even an obi of Lagos whose only crime is that he tried to raise money for a cultural and village centre in festac , he has been arrested but the same thing is being done by yorubas in the east and no body is raising dust.

The Igbo and Igala influence has been strong on our people there nevertheless they still trace their roots to Ondo state.

They are our only Yoruba family whose lands are not contiguous with Oodua land. In other words, other tribes are in between them and the greater Oodua family. Its up for debate but their history says they ventured off Owo and Itsekiri areas down to what is Delta, several centuries ago and where amongst the first settlers.

But I also heard someone say they fled because of a war within the Benin kingdom then.

Long and short story is, they are now where they are, and if we keep following the bandwagon of the Igbos, they will overshadow our people there. Their voice will keep going lower and lower until they become fully Igbonized. In Anambra alone, do you believe that there are over 17 communities that are of Igala origin? But very likely they now speak Igbo better than their indigenous language and even bear Igbo names.

If we keep quiet for too long, we will lose our people. During this their recent Anioma-heated campaign, many Yorubas were just standing aloof, not knowing that we have Yorubas as components of the people that would otherwise have been dragged to the south east.

If you are a good history student, you will know the origin of the Binis and why their kings are called oba. I'm too busy to educate you for now, google may help you if you dont mind.
