The Lagos State Police Command has ordered an investigation into the senior pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, following a series of sexual misconduct allegations that have circulated widely on social media.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, who instructed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to invite Okafor for questioning and to summon alleged victims and witnesses for interviews.

“The CP has directed the SCID to invite the pastor for investigation, despite the fact that no one has formally come forward to report,” said Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi.

She added that witnesses will be brought forward to provide statements that would assist the investigation.

The move comes after escalating public outrage, with actress Doris Ogala among the women accusing the pastor of sexual misconduct spanning nearly a decade. In emotional Instagram videos posted on 14 December 2025, Ogala alleged that her relationship with Okafor began in 2017, continued for nine years, and included broken promises of marriage. She also accused him of sharing explicit photos and contributing to the breakdown of her previous marriage.

I know of a church close to me that shut down because of sexual harassment. Members carried their chairs, musical instruments, speakers, windows. The bandit later had an accident, was on wheelchair for years before kaput 🤷🏿.

It's a shame we allow evil fraudsters get away with stealing from the public and manipulating them, just because they call themselves pastors or clerics. These are thieves using those tags. We respect pastors and clerics too much, forgetting some of them are just hustlers, hustling to make money. We can see it by how they clamour for money on the pulpit...and some others that sell out their people because they are funded by paymasters abroad, making them abandon their traditions and ways, the sellouts even attack their own traditions and culture, see how they treat Isese traditionalists...our traditions and culture must be upheld and respected. This is why other nations don't respect us, because of the way some of us destroy our local culture, disrespect it, malign it, tarnish it, calling it idolatory, when in reality all religions work with symbols...when we know our ancestors prayed for good yields, child birth and peace, but foreign ideologies these days are making Africans attack and destroy themselves, dividing them. What lost souls.

I don't see Chris Okafor doing anything wrong as long as the sexual relationship is mutual.

My concern is that these Pastors should stop claiming to be spirits that hear directly from God. They should let their congregation know they are scams that way nobody will be surprised at their sexual atrocities.

I will remain silent until police investigation validate all accusations levelled against him.Be quick to hear but be not be too hasty to respond.
