The team
It wasn't just Osimhen
The early goals really helped Nigeria to defeat them

Fine margins in this knockout phase.

The QFs will be much more even. Now AFCON gets really interesting.

Sweet
Quick question please
But why bench a player that scored 2 goals in the last game
Shouldn't Onyedika start ahead of Ndidi,
The former is more offensive than the latter
Spanish type of DM versus Conventional
What do you guys think
They shouldn't keel Kachi's fire though
It's tough games against DRC, Cameroon or heavyweights we could've used Ndidi since we'd concede possession

Ndidi hasn't done badly so far... Plus he is a better tackler than Onyedika.... Not to forget that he is the captain too .

I believe Onyedika will come in the second half, most likely for Onyeka..

. Onyi might be a gamble....ndidi is kinda reliable and trusted

As long as Eric Chelle is coach of the national team, Ndidi is a guaranteed starter.

It was a team performance of course chief but you know normally the plaudits would go mostly to osimhen for his hat trick

If we get a good lead Chelle should instruct the team to sit deeper instead of searching for more goals since the defence is our Achilles heel

Nothing give me joy than seeing Simon on the bench. The line up is good but after 70min coach should bring in Onyedika and Chukueze not Simon o

Some African countries are holding past records without any meaningful progress and trophies
Last time Ghana won AFCON was 1982
Uruguay won the world cup when it was an invitational tournament in 1930. They are still regarded as a powerhouse in world football, history and records are part of football history so what are u on about Ghana living on past glory as if Nigeria has a better head to head record against Ghana 🇬🇭

No way NIG will not wrap up Benin republic in 90 minutes on good neutral pitches

Because of your players and FA's antics.
North Africa has had the most penalty in this tournament -most of them purely bias.

See the way your players protested calling for VAR to cancel a clear handball yesterday
Tanzania didn't get penalty against Morocco

Chelle starting the same 4312 lineup and personnel as seen vs Tunisia, shows he indeed gets the message.

Meanwhile... today Nigeria's Super Eagles will end a nasty trend that has occured ever since the Afcon expanded to a 24-team tournament in 2019.

Since 2019, every single team that has gotten 9pts in the grp stage and faced a 3rd placed team in the round of 16, got eliminated.

2019 - Egypt got 9pts but eliminated by 3rd placed finished South Africa 2-0 in RO16.

2019 - Morocco also 9pts in grp stage got knocked out by Benin Republic (3rd placed team) in Round of 16

2021 - Nigeria with 9pts in grp stage but fell 1-0 to Tunisia (3rd placed team) in RO16

2023 - Senegal as defending Champs bagged 9pts in grp stage but got knocked out by 3rd placed CIV in RO16

2025 - Algeria and Nigeria both attained 9pts in grp stage.
Algeria faces 2nd placed DRC
Nigeria faces 3rd placed Mozambique.

Today, NIGERIA ENDS THIS NONSENSE! THE CURSE BREAKS.

Let's roll! Naija4dawin

My prediction for today's game:
If Mozambique play really, really, good football, they might get a goal. That is; if they play good game.
I expect nothing less BTW 2 to 4 goals from Nigeria.
