Three yellow cards in a game like this produce mixed feelings
The ref didn’t help matters. We got the job done and it’s good we have depth in the squad now going forward.

It’s a tournament and you can’t have it all. I don’t have mixed feelings about this match at all.

We bashed this team after the win against Tunisia and they have improved after then so what do we want again than to savour the win tonight

You got two goals already why are you shouting at your teammate?? All those clear cut chances he wastes does anyone shouts at him? Omo pair onauchu with Akor if he decides to let his useless ego get ahead of him

You're insufferable. What does cards have to do with a rampant display?

Is this how y'all are in real life or it's the usual Internet perfectionism

Nigerians!!!

Stop trying so hard to explain that bad attitude from Victor Osimhen plsssss. We don't need pampering for that display. Will you extend similar defending to another teammate? Definitely not!! So call a spade a spade abeg.

I like Osimhen a lot, but what he did today was St**d.... I hope he will apologize to his teammates...

Such attitude can demoralise the team and affect our performance going forward

what about sitters and so many 1 v 1 he has wasted in previous games…who yelled at him?
Na why I dey vex for am. Osimhen himself has killed forward plays many times, wasted and missed many opportunities. I don't know why he's acting as if he's perfect. He himself is not perfect, and he's angry at others who are also imperfect but even better than he is.

Thanks for this sir.

I was sad seeing him shoving off the captain and also leaving the field to the dressing room. This sort of action destabilises the team. Not also forgetting that the players you had issues with was the one that provided the assists for your two(2) goals in the same game.

I hope everything got sorted by the coaching crew. I love the team spirit already and will love to see it continue till the final.
lovewins:
Expressing frustration at a play isn't unusual, every player does it. The difference however is that Osimhen takes it up a notch and gets in his teammates face, and that is totally unacceptable. If there are reservations, you sort it out in the dressing room and should it be necessary, speak directly to the player involved. What you don't do is throw a tantrum every time a play doesn't go your way.

You'll also notice that no one seems to be able to calm him down, not even the team captain. Again z players get angry, but the importance of team structure is that when the captain asks that you tone done you do so. This is the second time Ndidi has asked him to relax and he literally just shoved him to the side.

I like Osimhen but this isn't acceptable and it's detrimental to team spirit.

I'm trying to understand something here, the two monikers that are defending osihmen actions,do you guys think na una love am pass or what. We should be able to separate fanship from reality and condemnation of a behavior isn't hatred or beefing the person. Oshimen behavior is unacceptable. He should be made to apologize to the whole team and even the fans for walking out on them. Next time he does this he should be sent home from the camp. The team is greater than the individual parts. Na everytime he go dey shout for other players,as per na hin gather all of them now. Respect is important and all players must respect each other

One reason i love the German team is they'll have 2 Iwobis and two Osimhen/Akor and a false 9. Remove 1st Iwobi and the 2nd one comes on to sustain the tempo with a new 9 or a false 9. We never reach that level yet. Once some starting xi comot match, tempo is lost. I don't like it. Can't remember the last time the bench came on and outperformed those that started the game in G/A.
Outperform in 10 mins abi

Osimhen is the most important player in this team.

He is always unselfish infront of goal. You recall the pass from Osimhen that Onuachu failed to convert b4 scoring via FDB assist.

Lookman should be more of a team player. We are grateful, he has a knack of assisting his team mates.

Akor's is understandable because he is yet to register a goal in this tournament.

This team needs a happy and motivated Osimhen.

They wouldn't have qualified without him.

He deserves some respect from his teammates.

We are yet to play Senegal and DR Congo, which I consider the best teams in the tournament.
Thunder faya your head. Lookman is 100% the best player at this Tournament. Let’s stop lying

It's due to them wasting goal scoring chances, simple pass and it's a goal, they will want to go for personal glory, Lookman and Akor are the main culprits,

Like I was literally shouting pass pass pass, and they went and wasted the Chance,

By now naija should be leading like 6/7-0 no caps
You probably need to go check the game again cause none of this has anything to do with Lookman. The issue Osimhen had was with Osayi Samuel who decided to go for glory twice instead of passing the ball to Victor who was better placed. Lookman only got involved because Osimhen got in Osayi's face about it.

Lookman can be indecisive sometimes but selfish or seeking personal glory isn't how you'll describe him this tournament. He literally leads the assist for the team. There was a chance today where he should have hit the ball, but thought too much about it and decided to pass it (bad idea by the way), but that one play showed me he was looking to get his teammates more involved than ever.

Victor messed up full stop and no explanation can discount is bad behaviour today.

Osimhen is my favorite player right now in this present day super eagles , but being a good player alone isn't enough, attitude matters.

imagine osimhen pointing his finger at lookman. such arrogance.

no player is bigger than the super eagles
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Godsfavour78: 10:28pm On Jan 05
I see some people ranting here that Osimhen should be benched, he is replaceable, who does he think he is….. blah blah blah

Nigerian Fans and short memory. Same super eagles that looked toothless without Osimhen in the WC Qualifiers.

The passion and drive that makes him shout at his teammates is what makes him a dangerous strike.

Just like arrogance and lack of respect fuels lamine yamal and makes him torment players older than him. Without that arrogance lamine yamal won’t have break out at a young age.

Without that Fire in his blood Osimhen will just be like onuachu. No disrespect to onuachu but the difference is clear.

Indeed it is no fluke but even better he works with a major upgrade in attack than what was available with Mali.

The frontline has all players on 7, 4 and 3 G/A so far at Afcon2025. 12 goals scored as a team. Naija on the way to a record breaking Afcon Triumph. Algeria/DRC will be hit hard by this Compact yet Chances-creating Lethal Nigerian team.

Odunayaw:
Chelle proves that the free scoring tasty football with Mali at last AFCON was no fluke.

Hopefully he takes us to glory

Somebody remind Osimhen that he once missed a one vs one against Gabon, and nobody shouted on him.

In short, on pitch mistake is not limited to certain players. Shouting at your teammates over and over again is unsportsmanlike especially when you're also culpable of some errors.

The same Lookman just ASSISTED Akor Adams.

Why not calm down? We were creating loads of chances.

He just destroyed the coach's game plan.
Did you observe that after Osimhen shouted at Lookman, Lookman began to release the ball quicker?
He stopped all the needless stunts and dribbles
That's all Osimhen was saying..
Pass the ball on time
Una no need all this leg over

We all watch European leagues and we’ve all seen worse selfish moments from players but common, shouting and pointing fingers to your teammates, a one time African best player. That’s total disrespect
leave that one na🤣🤣….until Osimhen attitude cost us another serious match na that time dem go know…all of us just dey act as if we dont know his attitude made us not to qualify for the world cup…very nonsense attitude….

OSIMHEN NOT COMING OUT FOR THE SECOND HALF MADE US LOSE THE WORLD CUP INERCONTINENTAL PLAYOFF TICKET…period!!

im sure he has gone inside the dressing room to fight and quarrel dirty that saw is puppeting to DRC in the remainder of that game

Baba forget talk, let's call a spade a spade and not a shovel. Those goals do not excuse his disgusting attitude, and no, this has no thing to do with Nigerians chasing perfection.

His actions can actually cause an indelible damage to this spirit and growth of this soaring side.

What message do you send when your coach can't control, caution, or calm you? How long will this continue? Do we keep excusing this outburst every single time?

Did you forget how a similar situation partially affected our chances of winning the game against DRC?

Abeg, make them hire a psychologist for am.

I don't know what Ndidi told Chelle, but decisive action must be taken about that guy after this AFCON.
He always wants personal glory and media attention that is getting into his head, he feels he has arrived.
But actually Osimhen has arrived, let's not forget he literally carried this team when lookman and the rest were all playing rubbish, he could have done better with his temper tonight though but let's not disrespect him and pretend we don't know his quality.
