One thing you people should understand about the media is this: "SEVERAL OF THEM MAY ACT LIKE THEY CARE ABOUT A RESULT BUT WHAT REALLY MATTERS TO THEM IS WHAT PUTS FOOD ON THEIR TABLE. CONTENT! AND MORE CONTENT! The Media generally, the world over dont give a damn if you score 100 in a game OR if a game ends goalless. What they are looking for is DRAMA. Coach vs Player. Player vs Player. Coach vs Coach. Team A vs Team B Physical brawl. Player vs Opponent. These are the things that truly excites the media more than scorelines. THEY LIVE FOR IT. AND MILKING IT IS WHAT THEY DO." My Advice. Kindly dont fall for it and just focus on the big picture. |

DABIGATRAN:It’s now I know most folks don’t actually want the team to do well cos there won’t be anything negative to rant about. I have posted here that this is one of the best games I have seen the eagles play and the player they are all ranting about even got a brace. Nigerians don’t deserve an excellent team. They just want the players and coach to keep on making mistakes for their frustrated ranting online. At this stage I don’t mind we get knocked out now at least they can pack more of their frustrations on the players more. |

Odunayaw:Exaggerated you say. What of the series of events that happened after the argument? Osimhen strolling and not contributing to the attack. Rushing off at fulltime, not celebrating with his teammates and fans. Did we exaggerate those ones too? No need to sugarcoat what is bad. He did bad in those moments and nothing was exaggerated |

Bruno has always been a quality player. He just needed confidence and the right environment. He's got some flair which is particularly useful in a team playing free-flowing football. Remember he used to be a midfielder. charlesemeka85: |

lbrichman2:Passion made him stop attacking, strolling and showed zero interest in helping his teammates? Leaving at fulltime, he had good 15-20mins for him to be calm. But still decided to leave the pitch without celebrating with fans and teammates. This passion get as e be ooo |

lbrichman2:Am praying we lose now so all can come back to this thread to call Osihmen more names. Ungrateful lots, he scores and they moan, he doesn’t score and they curse, he’s injured and they say he’s lying, he doesn’t play and they blame him for the team loss. Useless lots! Someone even had the guts to say it’s just tap in goals, why are the others not scoring the tap in? Dem tie block on their leg? |

Bro don't do this. You have been trying your best to defend an unacceptable behavior and frankly it's laughable. The videos only showed were he was shouting at lookman and shoving ndidi aside which is bad but that's even the smallest of his offences. After that he stopped making runs and asked to be substituted a very grave offence. Furthermore after the game he stormed to the dressing room and didn't join the team huddle or prayers after the match,he also didn't even acknowledge the fans. In addition there's a video of him also storming off to the team bus. So which of this other 3 Offences are exaggerated. Even if you excuse the shouting as passion, the other ones nko?. Even if our fanship let's be reasonable and remove bias Odunayaw: |

What I'm really pleased with is the fact that Eric Chelle doesn't behave like a Nigerian; he is a critical thinker and he has the ability to synthesize his own thoughts, two features lacking in your everyday Nigerian. Your usual Nigerian coach would throw Osimhem up top flanked by two wingers. By now we would be struggling to get a draw against Comoros |

To those criticising Osimhen’s reaction, it’s important to understand that elite football goes beyond just what you see on the surface. There’s a deep technical and psychological side to the game, especially at the highest level. Throughout that match, Osimhen found himself in clear, goal-scoring positions on at least three or four occasions. His off-the-ball movement was intentional and intelligent — exactly what you'd expect from a top-tier striker. Yet, despite this, Lookman and Akor repeatedly overlooked him and chose not to pass the ball. Then came another moment: Bruno made a strong run from deep into the final third. With Osimhen perfectly placed to receive a decisive pass — and even Lookman in position — Bruno opted to go for it alone. The result? A wasted opportunity, as he had no real space in front of the goal to make it count. At that point, Osimhen's visible frustration was natural. Reactions like his are not signs of ego or poor sportsmanship — they’re signs of a player operating with the kind of relentless drive and hunger that only the best in the world possess. You simply don’t rise to Osimhen’s level without that edge. It’s fair to assume that Lookman and Akor weren’t intentionally ignoring him. They were likely caught in the emotional intensity of trying to finish the game strong. But it would be unfair to single out Osimhen for reacting the way he did — it’s part of what makes him who he is. This same competitive mindset has made him one of Nigeria’s most reliable players, someone who’s stepped up for the country repeatedly and carved out a global reputation as a world-class striker. His decision to request a substitution may well have been his way of stepping back and letting others take the spotlight once the game was essentially sealed. At the end of the day, they’re professionals. Emotions run high, but things will be resolved internally. This is football at its peak. And players with the mentality of champions will always show that fire. It’s not out of place — it’s part of the game. |
